Randall said:Those rumors are some serious b.s. What about the new intel PowerBooks? Nothing mentioned about them at all in the "rumor roundup". Also, there is no way in h3ll we'll see a Core Duo in the Mac Mini. You people are out of your minds if you think that the Core Duo will find it's way into the Mini in any form. The mini is an entry level machine, and it won't get professional grade components. Frankly, I don't see the Core Duo finding it's way into any platform other then PowerBook. Just stop and look at all of the Core Duo PC notebooks announced last week at CES. ALL of them are PROFESSIONAL grade notebooks.

Randall said:They also have to wait just as long as us to see MWSF. I think they have it worse actually, because instead of waiting until 9:00am tomorrow, they have to wait until 6:00pm their time. (18:00) ouch!

I haven't been this anxious about an event since I was a kid hoping that I was going to get the Star Wars crew transport for Christmas. (The big long ship in Empire.) I feel like an idiot since I know there is a better then 50/50 chance that no PowerBooks will show up tomorrow. Do you think if I have milk and cookies delivered to Steve on stage it would help?
Seriously though. I've viewed several MWSF's and this one is the most anticipated by many. It really shows the state of Apple's laptop line.
Relax Jonny. You'll get your Core Duo PowerBook tomorrow. All the G4s need to go away now.SiliconAddict said:*Twitches madly like some junkie coming down, in the corner as he waits and hopes for a PowerBook update*

Butler Trumpet said:there will not be any powerbook updates... look at apple's website... they still have an ad for the New Powerbooks.... what would they do then? replace that with "here are the even newer powerbooks" its just not going to happen... dont even worry about thinking about it
But if not tomorrow, then soon...SiliconAddict said:I haven't been this anxious about an event since I was a kid hoping that I was going to get the Star Wars crew transport for Christmas. Apple has been known at times to keep the "NEW" badge on a product for its entire lifetime--right up until the next "NEW" version. Can't read too much into that.Butler Trumpet said:there will not be any powerbook updates... look at apple's website... they still have an ad for the New Powerbooks.... what would they do then? replace that with "here are the even newer powerbooks" its just not going to happen... dont even worry about thinking about it
Ummmm... since when does Apple's website the day before MWSF hold any water as to what they'll be unveiling at MWSF tomorrow??Butler Trumpet said:there will not be any powerbook updates... look at apple's website... they still have an ad for the New Powerbooks.... what would they do then? replace that with "here are the even newer powerbooks" its just not going to happen... dont even worry about thinking about it
eVolcre said:What if the new line ISN'T a powerbook at all? Could be called something else since it's a new architecture and direction. So -- the current ad would remain the NEWEST powerbooks, while the new ones are better but ... NOT powerbooks.![]()

Maybe that's the reasoning they want you to use. It's a trick!Butler Trumpet said:there will not be any powerbook updates... look at apple's website... they still have an ad for the New Powerbooks....

UberMac said:I don't think Apple would go that route personally - where would they be sold? Apple Store or a *insert plasma company retailers name here* shop? Although it's certainly a nice idea! I think that it would somewhat go against Apple's latest ideas and such...
