I bet it took those 22 days to make those videos. I wonder how many takes it took to get the other phones to drop the signals. What exactly was done in these 22 days? Figuring out which case manufacturers might be willing to help Apple give them away free?
 
Sorry, but you failed to get to the heart of the problem. I think legally if they acknowledge a design fault they become liable.
 
Giving free bumpers is the perfect solution for Apple. It probably cost like less than $1 to make. So if they have to give free bumpers, it would cost them like $3 million. Even if it costs $3 to make, it would still be less than $10 million.
Much better than $7 billion loss in market cap from its stock going down!

When you are on top, you sometimes gotta purge the ranks. Every war needs cannon fodder.
 
So far I don't really like the way Steve is holding this press conference. He should avoid holding it in that way.

I think Apple is getting to big for their britches. Jobs is getting to be a little too proud. This is why I jumped ship about a year ago. Plus that phone is still on the crappy 1990's ATT network. My town will probably never get 3G with ATT.
 
Hahahaha i knew it. Sooooo expected.

0.55% Apple Care complaints

I hope you guys realize the 0.55% of complaints to apple care could just as easily mean that of ALL complaints to apple care the antenna issue for iphone 4 makes up 0.55%, not 0.55% of all complaints about the iphone 4 to apple care.


It is just as important to listen to what is not said as what is said!
 
What about those of us that had to buy another case as the Apple Store/ATT did not have bumpers? Hope we can get that amount refunded...

I don't mind this as much as I want a case, but I feel for the users that prefer the elegant design without the case and have to deal with this issue...

I'm not sure what more people wanted. He admitted there's a problem. He quoted consumer reports. He's giving away free cases (not just bumpers, but a choice from among several cases) because it's been said repeatedly by people who are not Apple that a case fixes the issue.

If you're not happy after that, then there's nothing that would have made you happy to begin with. Return your phone and get that android you love so much.

Exactly. Problem is, people on these forums LOVE to complain about everything. most will never be satisfied.
 
I'm returning mine. Maybe I will be the only person sending Apple a message doing this; however, I'll buy another one in 2 months or so. By then I think they will have done something in the manufacturing process to fix it.

Sure, it would be nice if 50% of people did this but what are the chances?

You can get a refund through Sep 30 for the bumper if you already bought one.
 
Steve Jobs is full of ****. No other phone I've owned has had a signal drop no matter how you hold it. RIM, Nokia, Motorola and HTC should come out swinging at Apple, this is getting into the territory of slander IMO.
 
it would be nice if someone asked about a pre-order on the white iphone instead of asking his health, he wouldn't tell the truth anyways.

Because what Steve said was dead on. He is 100% accurate and right. The consumer can only judge with their wallet. No customer has any reason to complain from here on out. You can return the phone and choose a *better* one.

Also, if you return the phone, your contract with AT&T is cancelled.
