They are both bad ideas. However, at least the protest is outdoors and probably less harmful than indoor rallies.

Have you tried on a mask. There is no problem breathing with them on. The only issue i have is that it sometimes causes my glasses to fog up.

Do you have an underlying medical condition that made it difficult to breathe with a mask on. I tried the mask, I wanted to join in solidarity with my neighbours. It caused a big asthma attack that lead into a panic attack and my doctor reminding me not to wear a mask. If you can wear one, please do. You are protecting people that can't.

However, if you just don't want to wear a mask, I don't have the time off day for you.

There’s people who may not even know They have a medical condition but actually may have one, and therefore don’t like the mask bc it makes it harder to breathe.

That’s not a reason. That’s a self manufactured excuse that only serves to make it harder for those who legitimately cannot wear a mask.

That's not what the poster said at all. They said, they themselves have a known, medically diagnosed condition and proper medical exemption documentation. They suggested that others we see may be the same. Absolutely true.

They did NOT imply that there's some notable number of people stumbling around without a mask without any knowledge of some pre-existing condition, that just kind of, "Have a time with it, so decide not to wear it". Trust me, if you've got a condition like Asthma, COPD, etc., wearing a mask doesn't suddenly make you aware.

In fact, the person you quoted even attempted to wear a mask knowing they have a medical condition (which I applaud, thank you @ruka.snow but I realize your condition prevents the use of a mask, and I'll continue to wear my mask to help you :)).

A medical exception document would be lovely, as the police can issue spot fines. As it stands I am basically sending my partner out just now as there is a good chance if I was in the shop getting the groceries that I could get into a confrontation with the police which may result in me refusing to talk to them if they do not act correctly. A card or document would be a nice easy thing to show something. However, such a document would not stop the Karen's of the world that think the masks make the pandemic go away so they can walk past you in a shop or cause a fuss because they aren't allowed their mask off.

Factually wrong

Calculate Number of COVID deaths in America/total U.S. population and let me know what that number is...

That number tells you absolutely nothing. The issue is that 50,000 or more people are being diagnosed with a disease in the US every day that is killing at a rate of
You would never know it, as there is a heck of a lot more open than closed (including Disney World which I’m going)

Of course you are going to a state where the bars are all closed, but you keep telling its business as usual. The school systems of major cities like NYC, Atlanta, Miami, San Diego and Los Angeles are not letting the kids come back to you class, but again you say its business as usual. The village idiot of Georgia (formerly known as their (your?) governor) has had every major city strike back as they all now have Mask ordinances despite his constant, "No we don't need one" talk. They decided actual scientists know more then the guy with bad grades on his BA from UGA in Agriculture. Disney will be closed in a couple of weeks, if it stays open that long. Part of the reason it is open is the NBA season playing there starting at the end of the month, as that house of cards collapses, Disney World will close as well. State positivity rate is an insane 15%, up from 5% in May, and you want to go to this state averaging 10K new cases a day over the last 7 days. Pac-12 has cancelled 36 of their football games already of the I believe 90 total they play before the playoffs so 44%, Big 10 has cancelled 42 of the 105 they normally play. ACC will be doing the same soon, two conferences are out completely. Baseball will be shut down in less then a month. Congrats on continuing to be part of the problem.

On a morning talk show today it was discussed that the numbers were fudged about how many people actually have coronus virus... apparently it is a math error.

It never ceases to amaze me that in 2020, in this day and age, where we have access to so much information and computing power ... so much education available.... that stuff like this still happens.

What if it was done on purpose to get people more interested in that vaccine with the tracking device in it?...fudging the numbers increases the amount of mask worn and closes non corporate stores while large chains continue to operate as usual...in California they closed churches once more while fast food chains are allowed to stay open.

As a manager over 13+ people, I think it is a bit much to assume that there is this much cooperation for an overall objective like "tracking" or anything like similar to that. Organization on that scale would be inhumane. We're talking alien invasion stuff here. And while I strongly believe in the Borg Collective, I have yet to see proof of it with my own eyes. Till then, :( I can only dream. (Star Trek fan).

I can "what if" all I want but reality is often a very different story from all these "what if" scenarios.

What if we all live in The Matrix?

How about instead your source is biased against facts and vaccinations.

I remember the sources you used to quote in PRSI - some of the most conspiracy laden wackadoodle websites on the planet.

What channel were you watching to get this “information “?

To be fair if someone has an underlying medical condition where their breathing capacity is reduced by a mask, they probably shouldn’t be visiting public places where they could contract COV-19 anyway. They would be the exact people who really should be wearing a mask in the first place.

Frankly, if anyone has a medical condition with your lungs, you should avoid going out at all costs. You may no survive getting COVID-19. I order food from Amazon and Walmart and have them delivered. I only go to the grocery store when absolutely necessary either when it first opens or when it is slow in the evening.

If I didn't go out to get my groceries I would die. The 84 year old next to me has to go out and get his groceries too. Home delivery is not possible and even if it was I would still need to get out for some milk once in a while.

You will die just as quickly from not eating as COVID. Though I already had it and was lucky with light symptoms as I didn't even register I had it but I have the antibodies.

First of all as has been proven on this site and dozens of other sites, the number of people with virus is an undercount, much like the number of deaths is an undercount, I realize we only have a few more days till our favorite Covid-19 troll (actually technically I believe he is a generic Macrumors troll) gets this thread closed, but understand the number of people with the disease and the number of people who have died from the disease are an undercount. I am guessing you have a cell phone, that provides so much more information to the world, then ANYTHING you could put in a vaccine, that your entire premise is ludicrous. Instead believe that there are 1000s of secret cameras in your house, THAT I PUT THERE, to record everything you do, so I can steal all your money, because that is 100% easier to do, 100% more profitable, and much more likely then this stupid vaccine with a tracking device idea.

I thought of an interesting way to view this Coronavirus thing while waiting in line for lunch.

This is a lot like HIV and AIDS. Anyone that you meet could 'have it'. They can spread it to you if they are stupid, and you are too. Sure AIDS killed a lot of its victims, but there are treatments now to prolong life. But setting that aside, this is crazy. How many people, in the height of the AIDS epidemic, just went out and had unprotected sex with anyone that came up to them. Wearing masks is a chore. I don't like it as much as the next person, but damn, if wearing a condom could protect you from dying of AIDS, and wearing a piece of fabric over your face can protect you from an illness that is often way worse than the flu, wouldn't you wear them?

I think some people feel claustrophobic in a mask, but there are appropriate masks that aren't so likely to cause those feelings. I wear an N95 from the moment I get in the car, to the moment I get home, just to protect me from idiots that want to pout and throw a fit because they 'have to do something' BOO HOO, and wear a damn mask.

An AIDS activist reportedly said 'Don't want to wear a condom? Die!'. Don't want to wear a mask, to protect me from you? Then what does that say about you. I can guarantee that if this gets much worse, you snowflakes will find yourselves forced to wear a mask, or go to jail.

And all this stupidity of forged 'documents' that 'prove' you can't wear a mask? GIVE ME A BREAK!!! I'd be damned embarrassed, thinking that I can print something off the internet to 'Make a stand', and not wear a damn mask. I'm so embarrassed by this country. We put men on the damn moon (we did, we really did) and we can't effectively battle a damn virus and get people to save others? JFC people!!!

Six weeks of us all wearing masks and this thing would be basically over, unfortunately I don't think the Village Idiots of the US will do that, so we are going to get worse, my state has gone to mandatory masks today, already there are at least nine protests scheduled for tonight statewide, where those who are "protecting" our freedoms are going to go out and spread this deadly disease more all while being in violation of current regulations. I sent a message to my employees a few minutes ago, we aren't allowed in our building without masks already, that anyone arrested at the protest down town for not wearing their mask, will not be on my list to get their security clearance renewed at the end of the year. I am not going to waste my time filling out paperwork to let them keep their clearance when they have been arrested because they believe they have the right to give other people a potentially fatal disease.

Yeah that's the argument that MSNBC used to justify it.... Besides protests are important so it's worth exposing a few hundred thousand people to a deadly virus right?

I think the U.S. has taken the best approach in the sense that it should be up to the individual to assess what they want to do within the confinements of the local rules put in place. The personal freedom aspect is what I love about the approach. For example, if someone wants to have a wedding, as long as it is allowed they should be able to have one. And if someone says I'd rather wait a few weeks for my wedding, they have that right too. Just one example. But nobody should dictate what you can and can't do in general. We must recognize people's personal freedoms IMO and not just throw it out the window

I would like to clarify for the record I am in no way, shape, or form a dawgs fan. Kind of reckless to throw out teams at random in the sec no? Lol. I'm kidding though. I have many friends from UGA, all great people. Great school too. I've been to several parties there, always a good time. But yeah cases are definitely up but if you take the number cases and compare it to the total population, I keep finding over and over it's small. So I'm thinking this whole thing may be overblown in general. Earlier I took the total cases globally and divided by the world population and it was SUPER tiny like I think it was around 0.17% of people in this world who have tested positive for it. That means over 99.83% of this world has not tested positive. So I keep calculating that number to see where we're at, but the thing is at least I care to do so. My girlfriend, my friends, and I'm sure many millions of people literally couldn't care less about corona. It's been forgotten by them months ago

That’s a very touching sentiment for those who have lost the battle and are still battling it. I’m glad your little bubble are pretending it’s not happening and enjoying all the attention you are getting by bragging about it on the internet, bravo . You’ve been dropping this into posts to get a reaction for months now and have been quite persistent when at times it’s been unnoticed.

To those refusing to wear a mask, they are much more comfortable than a ventilator so that’s worth bearing in mind.

No bubble. It’s about doing the research, interpreting it, and just being able to determine what may be right for you. The millions of Americans who are out and about aren’t looking at the internet and news. Clearly, not too many people who share my views on here bc they’re probably at the bars. But at least I have the ability to do my research, Get different views, share my own layman perspective (which are flexible am not close minded), which many people are not.

And yeah I don’t have a problem with masks I have a mask and it’s a good one IMO

again, I’m not saying what OTHERS should or should not do. I believe in personal freedom. I’m just saying what I believe to be is OK for me

I deserve credit for at least listening to other perspectives and being open minded. The millions of Americans who are out and about don’t even want to hear it
