I'm glad you had more positive experiences with the new machines. Sadly, my experiences were rather disappointing. I'm fortunate enough that my company covers these kinds of expenses though.
Well, it's not so much that I've had more positive experiences. I've just had so many bad experiences that I can't really say I feel like anything's fundamentally changed.
I still have a 2010 and 2012 MBP that mostly work fine, but both have needed repairs (including the keyboard on one of them). The thing is I could repair those models so even though I don't fear an elevated risk of my computer breaking down, I do have an elevated dread of it happening since there's nothing I can fix.
So yeah, I don't find that things are great now. I just found the past to be pretty flawed as well. Things are just flawed in a different way now.
