VENTURA? High Sierra, Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur, Monterey .. All conjuring up wonderful vistas. So tell me, how the heck did Ventura get on that list? Santa Barbara would have been a good choice, or how about San Louis Obispo or Carmel by the sea - Colorful California places with Colorful California names. Please pardon my disappointment. Unfortunately, whenever I think of Ventura, I think of that broad expanse of crowded California freeway (Ventura freeway) that runs through LA's San Fernando Valley.

Oh - then why were you including him on your list of Apple "PR mouthpieces"?

Gruber or Rene (your other examples) are never that outspoken vs Apple - particularly the tone and swearing
I don't know who is this "you" 😀 but it's never black and white. Gruber, for example, had criticized Monterey Safari harshly so much so that Apple had to give us options on how we want to view tab bar and address bar.
Darymple even told in his one of his podcast how he threw HomePod out the window because of Siri. 😂

System Settings is an awful design on iOS *and* MacOS. Scrolling an infinitely long list on iOS gets so tedious and confusing I often just use the search bar. It’s a ton faster than using the list

That’s not good design

If it was a good way for people to navigate, the home screen would be a long list and so would Launchpad on MacOS

It's always perplexing why Craig and Co. agree to sit with this idiot year after year.

John Siracusa would be way more interesting to watch.

Siracusa is a good journalist and that would make them uncomfortable. Gruber is an Apple fanboy with above-average writing skills. He falls for Apple’s market spin almost every time

They like that

Even Craig seems a little bit like......"really?"

I don't know if Apple really gets it concerning games. As is their wont since the intro of Apple Silicon, they tout the power efficiency of the M-series chips.

But gamers, and specifically high end gamers, don't care about that, as much as Apple would like to think. For gamers, performance is king. If that means more power consumption, then so be it. For many gamers, high heat PCs are a badge of honor; the more heat, the better. Throwing a lot of power at a GPU is a way to increase performance, and hard core gamers gladly pay the price for that, if it's offered to them. It's not clear that the M-series Macs will offer a high heat/high performance option that many gamers want.

I acknowledge that not every gamer wants or needs a water cooled tower that does a million FPS.
As long as Apple still worship whatever word Steve Jobs said 12 years ago and treat them as bible, Mac gaming Will never be addressed and embraced, no matter how hard they try. Mental hurdle is the toughest burden to break through, not technology limitations.

On top of that, Apple doesn’t seem to want to erode the image that MacBook is for high end work and luxury items, people that usually don’t bother about gaming at all, when they are ok for iPad to be that role.
