Then how come it's only a vocal minority complaining? It seems only a large number of tabs and many background apps cause this. Just open fewer tabs and it'll be fine.

Wrongo, fanboi. I'm getting Safari crashes with 2 or 3 open tabs on my iPair and on my 5s. Just because I'm not throwing tantrums in the forums doesn't mean it's not happening.

I manage to reproduce the crash easily.

Open fresh Safari browser, go to apple.com. Add new tab, then go to apple.com, keep repeating it. On the fourth tab Safari will crash. It crashes my safari every time.

At the same time, I can open 25 tabs with Engadget.com in safari without any issue. The issue has got to do with page content.

Interestingly I can't reproduce this on my iPhone 5s but I can on my iPad Air. They both have 1GB of ram and use a 64bit version of Safari so what is the difference?

Idk how but iOS 7 on iPad is more unstable than android 2.2 lol

Probably iOS 7 isn't as optimized for new devices (64 bit) as you might expect and uses too much memory, proving that AT THE MOMENT 1 GB RAM isn't enough, but apple will fix that soon hopefully.

They are working on a 7.04 release and even a 7.1 release. I read that on CNet. Its quite obvious that the iPhone is the "favorite kid" out of the various iDevices. It makes Apple the most money and also has the most competition, IMO. So, yeah, the iPhone gets the attention first.

I hate cell phones but thats just me. Soon enough, iOS 7 will be optimized for the iPad and then we can move on.

I'm definitely seeing more of these crashes on my iPad Air than I did on my iPad 3. I've ticked the automatically send box in a hope that the diagnostic data will prompt a fix.

It's actually getting annoying at this point, beginning yesterday morning this was my first weekend of heavy use and this thing is addicted to crashing, who cares how fast it is if you have to constantly reload apps?

Ipad has more than 4x the pixels, for one. Could be sucking more memory as a result.

Very interesting find on your part. I definitely see the same thing when I open multiple tabs of Apple.com website. This helps me determine that my unit probably doesn't have a hardware issue as AppleCare support had suggested (https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1669719/). I'm going to call up AppleCare tomorrow and see what they have to say about it.

Just to chime in, Safari has crashed dozens of times since I got my Air on the 2nd!

I imagine it's a bug, but I'm certainly getting hacked off by it!

Another thing that's annoying, is that almost every time you switch tabs, the page has to reload!?! Memory issues?
