You can purchase them. Not human ones, rather animal ones. Lamb placenta is one of the more common ones, if you can call purchasing a placenta common.

I know goats eat their placenta. I wonder if sheep do too?

its not such a big deal for the mother to eat the placenta, its actually quite healthy as it provides the mother with a huge boost in nutrients after she gives birth. As a side note, lots of animals do it. Now why the male partner should eat it i don't know, maybe some right of passage 'becomming one with your partner' thing is going on, otherwise, its just Tom Cruise fishing for more attention...or going insane.

Thanks for making me vomit as well. And thanks for making me go off my breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I guess I now have a good excuse as to why I probably won't have anything to show in class today.

Thanks so fracking much.

Sounds to me like he was just baiting the tabloid media again, although I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was true.

They should insert some references to Scientology and placenta-eating in Mission Impossible 3.

It seems to me this is the most sensible thing he has been reported as thinking/doing for ages.

Good thing Nicole Kidman (mmmmm, Nicole!) got the hell out of that relationship. Wonder how much his increased Scientology weirdness played a role in their split?

And I wonder how much Katie's family is geting freaked out by this guy as time goes on...

Go back to your lives ... there is nothing to see here. Please don't feed the monters they already have enough to eat.

If you're bored ... go do something! Paint, write a book (read a book!), make a song, dance, something ... anything!

Please!!!!

This story is a load of crap. He never said that. I saw the interview with Diane Sawyer where she asked him about it and he joked about it but stated firmly that it was all made up. Scientology might be weird to most of us, but I seriously doubt if they practice cannibilism.

How stupid can Cruise be? Now the Church of Scientology has bestowed their highest level of honour (Grand Poobar or something) which means he is supposed to have met the level of enlightenment and can even cure his own illnesses. Does this man not realise the sham here?

He's an arrogant, over paid, stereotyped (bad) actor and should keep his religious beliefs to himself.

"Brasky's wife gave birth to a delicious 16 ounce steak, the afterbirth was sauteed mushrooms."

That would be Grand Poobah. He reminds me more of the Great Gazoo

Now that Suri Cruise (or is she Suri Holmes?) has been born, does anybody have word on whether or not he has done the deed (and if so, what kind of review did he give)?

Oh wow, I didn't know that she had given birth.

Suri is an interesting name, and I just googled it to see what it meant. I laughed when the first thing that came up was "Suri Network" which is all about alpacas. :D

Why do people equate eating the placenta with cannibalism? Are people who eat their own boogers cannibals? The placenta is not a body part. It is not cannibalism. It's not like he's going to eat the baby's arm or something.
