I wouldn't. The GSM band Verizon uses is different from the rest of the world's. I wouldn't be able to take my iPhone abroad and stick in a different sim card.

Not at all.

I'll stay with my already great service and laugh when people jump ship and start complaining about that provider because the network is hammered.

No. You cannot talk and browse at the same time :D. Unless Tmobile got it and have a lower package.

Nope.. I receive excellent 3G service.. voice + data is huge. In fact I hope a lot of people switch to Verizon so I have that much more 3G and 7.2 available to me while I travel :D.

Never!!! I like that i can do surf and still talk!! Also when AT&T turns up 7.2M HSPA it will be even better. Great coverage where i live. There is NO provider that has great coverage EVERYWHERE!!:D

Nope

I'd stay also. Service with Verizon sucks in my area, Sprint and TMOB too. I generaly have full coverage and 3G about 90% of the time. ATT is the way to go in my area.

I'd wait a few months to see how Big Red's network handles the influx of users and whether or not ATT's network improves.

Verizon isn't any better than ATT around here, except that the hospital where I work is wired by Verizon so Verizon cell phones work everywhere in the facility. If it weren't for that, I'd have had an ATT/iPhone two years ago.

Nope. Despite the fact that I live and work in the heart of the zone that Verizon is supposed to be king (mid-atlantic and New England), I've found that AT&T's service is just fine, and in many cases better. I was a Verizon customer for 7 years, and believed the hype and avoided the iphone for the first 18 months because of it. The last 18 months with AT&T have been just fine. In fact, there are areas where my Verizon phone would only ring about 30% of the time (despite great signal - this was a problem for years) where AT&T is flawless. (But wait, Verizon never drops calls I thought??) I still travel with co-workers on Verizon so I get to compare regularly.

Yes, I would I have a built in car phone (OnStar) that will only work with Verizon. I would be able to add it as an additional line. I have written my US Representative and US Senators requesting that they support open access on cellular phones, so that you can't be held hostage to a single carrier.

The FCC is looking at cell phone exclusivity to see if it hurts consumers.

never!!!! lol no but seriously everyone i know on verizon is always complaining about getting nickel and dimed. plus their 3G is slooooow, I was using my buddies verizon phone and the 3G speed reminded me of AT&T's edge. I wont lie AT&T service is not the greates and I do drop calls but for the most part I'm always in a 3G area so I can deal with it.... and lastly I would lose my 20% discount from work.

Nope, ATT has given me good and consistent service for many years and I never had any major problems with their 3G connections. Plus I always had billing problems with Verizon & Sprint. ATT has never over billed me nor secretly added on some feature without my consent

Also I could never go from GSM to CDMA. I still have some unlocked phones and being able swap my sim card is still a huge advantage for me. I don't do it often but when I head to places like the beach I don't want to get sand in my Iphone so I just swap my sim into another phone. Also if I lose my Iphone, I can easily go to any ATT store and get a replacement sim for free and put it in one of my phones as a backup. Much easier than having to activate another phone.

As far as T-mobile goes, their pricing is great. But they are the true kings of dropped calls in NYC tri-state area. Almost everyone I know from NY to Philly complains about dropped calls or busy network preventing them from making a call.

So even if every major carrier offered the Iphone, I would still stick with ATT.
If it ain't broke don't fix it.(just keep improving)

I hate Verizon.

I not a fan of other CDMA providers (at least in the US); if say Sprint was GSM, I'd jump ship immediately.

So the answer is no.

Wow quite a few, hell it might be the majority, say they would keep AT&T. Considering they were dead last in customer satisfaction according to Consumer Reports, the support they have in this forum this impressive!

Doubtful. I came from Verizon and even though I was impressed with their network, it's just a PITA to go to another cell carrier, sell your AT&T iPhone to pay the ETF charges, then shell out more money for a Verizon iPhone. To me it's not worth it. AT&T service is acceptable in and around where I live, so I would have no real reason to switch.

Can't Do It

Nope. Coverage is great here in Texas. 3G never goes out in city and rarely goes out out of city (unless traveling in the extreme boonies). When it does go out, edge is more than enough for calls, emails, and light browsing on the net. I have never had a billing dispute or issues with total dead service. I don't travel too often, yet have never had a problem. over the last year I have traveled to Vegas 2X, Chicago, Shreveport 6X, Orlando, and LA (yuck) and I haven't experienced any issues with the network

I had Sprint and was the worst experience ever. Dropped calls at my home constantly, 1 - 2 bars max and it was on there low end speed, cancellation of my mobile data plan and still getting charged for it, constant bill issues. Just a never ending nightmare almost as bad as when I was with AOL (Almost)

I know Verizon probably has better coverage You should think about it unless your in a rural area and really need the extended coverage, just getting a experience like mine with sprint or willing to pay a slight bit more. I added the cost of a family plan for two smart phones and a flip phone and it came out about 48 bucks higher monthly. I just can't see me going through the hassle of changing or paying the extra bit of money for coverage I may or may need a couple of days out the year.

Now if T mobile carries an i Phone and the monthly bill is 50 bucks lower monthly then do do deeeeee.

I won't even consider buying an iPhone unless/until it is available on Verizon. Where I live and work (greater NYC area) AT&T cannot hold a candle to Verizon's network. Friends with iPhones and other AT&T phones get dropped calls all the time. Verizon is much better. As a result, most of my friends and family have Verizon phones and are free calls on my network. Plus, Verizon has made huge strides in customer service over the last few years. Do they nickle and dime? All phone companies do; Verizon doesn't hold the exclusive rights to that treatment.

I wouldn't consider it because of the carrier. I'll consider switching because of the Water Sensor problems with Apple's iPhone. That is an Apple problem. Actually, Apple says it's my problem. Everything works fine except the busted GPS on the ver 3.0 update on my wife's 3G. It has never been in water. If it had, wouldn't both sensors show RED. DUH apple Genuis. The GPS must be on the very bottom by the pink sensor. Because the rest of the phone works fine. Anway, after Two 1st gen iPhones, Two 3G, and One 3GS, I don't believe I'll buy another with this policy, OR buy the Apple iMac that I wanted. It's much easier to discard a PC. Disgruntled, yes. When I spend that much, and they want more? And with Verizon, I could get a DROID with Insurance. Oh well..... keep ignoring your GPS not working phones AND the one Water Sensor that turns pink. I've found a lot of people in this category.

I still have some unlocked phones and being able swap my sim card is still a huge advantage for me. I don't do it often but when I head to places like the beach I don't want to get sand in my Iphone so I just swap my sim into another phone.

It's easy to switch CDMA phones (or plans, for that matter) via the VZW website. Activating another phone takes less than five minutes that way. I believe that with a registered PIN, you can do it quickly by phone as well.

I do wish Apple allowed us to move at least contact numbers to the iPhone SIM, btw. Would make it more useful when swapping it to a temporary dumbphone.
