No way. I often need data access while talking on the phone. As long as Verizon can't do that, they are not an option.

Also, AT&T coverage is great where I live and work. I've had Verizon before and they aren't any better than AT&T on any level.

S-

I would probably wait to see how their network fairs with the iPhone and jump based on that. Switching would be preferable.

Nope

I would not leave AT&T for Verizon even if Verizon carried the iPhone. I left Verizon to get the iPhone and for me it was a no brainer. I have never been happy with Verizon and their lack of customer service.

I'd never leave. AT&T has always done good by me. I get 3G everywhere here in Southern California, never a dropped call. Always impressive speeds, I have no AT&T complaints. I love AT&T and my 3G.

I think that their CS is actually the worst of the major four, and the fact that I found them to be very expensive doesn't help.

They still have better voice data than AT&T (don't remember dropping a call), but CS is worth a lot in my opinion as well, so I vote no.

Meh, I was on Verizon until about a year and a half ago. I will say their network is better when you're out in the boonies, which I often am, but not a lot better. And the software on any Verizon phone I ever had was complete pants!

makes you wonder doesnt it. Who made the right call. 3G used by the GSM guys has more in common with Verizon 2G tech than it does with GSM 2G tech.

No wonder at all. AT&T's 3G is clipping along at 3.4 Mbits, ( or soon will be), with plans to have 90% of their network up to 7.4 Mbits by 2011.

Meanwhile, Verizon's EV-DO Rev A is already maxed out at 1.4 Mbits, (less than half as fast). Plans to upgrade to the faster EV-DO Rev B were placed on a back burner when global carriers started abandoning QualComm's CDMA for 3GPP UMTS, such as AT&T uses. Verizon is currently planning a switch to LTE, but are years away. (By the way, no phone currently sold by Verizon will work on LTE, probably why Verizon doesn't talk much about the coming technology switch).

I would bet good money that half of the ATT positive posts are paid responses. In fact, this forum is full of paid posting, and I will be retiring shortly.

I have been in major cities this year and ATT voice service is awful.

I think this is because they use a compromised voice codec that allows you to use data at the same time as the voice call. Ironically, they pitch it as a feature, but the voice quality in Atlanta and West Palm and Chicago, and Ny and Sandiego and Miami is ****.

I will say that the data has been fine.

If verizon ever gets the iphone there will be a churn rate that will clearly define how people value a call thats clear and not dropped.

You paid posters should get your ass kicked. Paid for lying has to be a new deadly sin.

I'm suddenly wondering where I left my tin foil hat.....

Its in the Ga dome, where you left it. lol

C'mon your thinking conspiracy here? Its fact. Your smarter than that.

Even my ringtone is scrambled in the Atl, ATT's headquarters. If you were here for the game, you would have dropped 3 out of ten calls.

Frustrating............

Hmmm, you were the one who suggested that anyone who posted of positive about AT&T was a paid shill. Remember? That's kind of a conspiracy theory!;):D

Ok fine. nobodys motivated by posting for $$$ (belkin is the only one right?)

You are all preoccupied by new wireless tech spec speeds, which never play out..........lte etc, and you forget that when you drop a call to a client who pays you alot of $$$$, you look like an idiot.

I literally dropped 3 calls to a lawyer in New York last week, as we were integrating our practices in the South East.

Juiced, dont bother responding. You obviously have never had a major clients phone call dropped, if you have a job at all.

Wow. Just....wow.

I sure would. Verizon's 3G coverage is amazing. I hate ATT haha

Until it's hammered by a huge amount of users who tend to use more data than voice.

And Legalroma - you obviously didn't use at&t in Chicago because it's exceptional. I sure as hell wouldn't take money from at&t, either.

No because once all the idiots that think Verizon is gonna be the promise land move over all that sweet sweet internet is gonna be left for us loyal AT&T customers. Meanwhile Verizon will be choking from all the new smartphone users

I love when people make up statistics about dropped calls lol

"oh at&t sucks I've had 23091 calls dropped since I got them 18 months ago"
because I'm sure you've kept exact track of the number of cell phone call drops you've had over the last year and a half. Stop lying and crying about nothing

and yet their (Verizon) tech was able to make the switch from 2G- 3G with more of a software grade instead of a tower upgraded.....

makes you wonder doesnt it. Who made the right call. 3G used by the GSM guys has more in common with Verizon 2G tech than it does with GSM 2G tech.

Yet when 4G comes around they'll have to start from scratch where as AT&T will just do a software update....

funny huh?

Verizon is much better because they've had the infrastructure longer than anyone. Verizon was smart and invested like crazy in this stuff like 20 years ago. Cingular (AT&T) was no where near the level that Verizon was a few years ago, and AT&T has a lot of catching up to do.

They have done great in keeping an old technology...

My positive response and other's positive responses are from great coverage and great service on AT&T. We receive what we pay. Also, we don't get paid by AT&T to endorse them. I wish I could get paid by AT&T, I sure need the cash.

Funny thing is, I also fail to see how your entire AT&T experience = everyone's. Funny no?

I have also been in many major cities and have found AT&T's service to be quite fine (except downtown New York where it's hammered to death). Oh, and by the way, I can't believe I'm answering a pure troll post.... I'm ashamed of myself....

No, I've had Verizon and T-Mobile out here, while most people do have Verizon in my area I have had a pretty bad experience with them with numerous dropped calls, service outages, and questionable charges on my phone bill. I do get dropped calls on occassion with AT&T but the call quality in my opinion is clearer, I get 3G coverage and of course can make calls and use data together.

Ironically though I think T-Mobile had the best voice quality of the 3 here but lousy coverage.
