As soon as Apple Pay brought CurrentC into the tech news limelight, I'm sure they started moving up quickly on the hacker priority list.

"We can't keep your email safe, but you can trust us with your SSN, banking information, and driver's license . . . "

MCX and CurrentC have managed to create negative credibility. That's impressive when you don't even have a working product or solution.

I learned a long time ago as a software developer... don't write one line of code or place a single binary in service anywhere until you have assessed your security needs and have designed a strategy.

When dealing with personal data, if you can't do it safely, don't do it until you can.

It can be a little time consuming, but its not that hard with some common sense.

CVS and Rite Aid will re-enable their NFC readers soon enough. Even Walmart will leave this mess behind.

Sadly, I think Walmart is in it for the long haul. They don't necessarily need Apple Pay as much as the others. They are the one retailer that could turn the tide if they reverse course, though.

lol..Fail!!!

And customers are suppose to trust their CC information in this system.. ha, please!!

EDIT: To whomever replaced the original link with a youtube tag... you left out the cue mark. The actual salient part of the clip is at 1:17. I'll try to put it back, but I don't think t= is supported by the youtube tag here.

I apologize if this has been stated earlier...but clearly this is not a service that I want early adopter status.

I've heard of failing at the first hurdle before, but never before the first hurdle lol.

What a joke!

GOOD! I hope CVS and Rite Aid take note. Dropped ApplePay for CurrentC and now the good name (if it ever had one) of CurrentC is being smeared due to it's lack of security....which is supposed to be the whole reason of doing mobile payments in the first place. :p

+1

Who's mining who now MCX? CVS and Rite Aid are two companies that will be bail this consortium like the proverbial rats abandoning a sinking ship.
