Absolutely NOTHING happened when I did this two years ago.

When the Apple employee came around when the store opened I got 2 paper tickets from them and explained to the person behind me that one was for my wife who was coming later. They said "cool."

Then, later, she came and took one of the tickets from me. The person behind me saw that absolutely nothing had altered their day and proceeded to not care in the least.

You're telling me that person behind me should have flipped out and demanded that I buy the two phones myself just to prove...what?

I don't think this is the same thing. You got two tickets and could very well have bought the two yourself without having your wife there. Now if you took two tickets and then your wife got there and bought two phones too .... well there's a problem.

On another note, what is everyone's opinions if someone shows up and REPLACES the person in line? Is that cool?

If someone replaces the person in line then of course it's ok because it's counts as 1 person. Just let the people around you know the plan.

Usually it's not the person right behind you, but several people back as they see all these people cutting and know there's a chance they may not get it, especially of they were already worried about being too far back.

If you cut and you get a phone that the person behind you wanted, but is out of stock because of you.... be prepared to be kicked back to end of line oblivion.

Here's a system that makes sense to me. If you want to let someone you know in line, fine. But you have to move back the number of people you let in. If you let 1 person in, you both move back 1 spot. If you let 30 people in, you all move back 30 spots. Of course enforcement would be impossible, but since my phone is out of delivery, that's not my problem.

So a few friends of mine are going to the Apple Store at 12pm tomorrow hoping to be first. I don't get off work and school until 8pm. I was originally going to Verizon by my house by obviously I'll have a greater chance on getting what I want at the source.

My friends want me to meet them after I get off so it'll be around 9pm. Can I cut in line and wait with them if I get there late and there's a hundred people behind? Will people be butt hurt and start yelling or is this normal during this event?

This happened to me yesterday. I was #122 at 3 AM and by 7:30 I was around 220. HOARDS of "freinds" and "family members" cut into the line with, most likely, people who are bagging two phones to sell for profit. They ran out of my phone when I was around #40. Go figure. Not to be an ass, but I would be the one to start an altercation with you. I did it yesterday until I was outnumbered. But that was the last time I'll ever wait in line until Apple employs some proven system to stop this BS. "Butt Hurt" ??? Ya dude, give it up.
