It's a little more nuanced than that. That is implied. The fact that Walgreens a competitor already supports ApplePay means I can be a payment snob as it relates to the drug stores I frequent. Up until now I was going to all of them. Now I will just go to Duane Reade/Walgreens. It's cleaner anyway.

I can understand that, me personally, I'll go to which ever is closer at the moment.

I've got nothing to contribute, I'm just trying to keep the post count climbing.

Let's go 3000! :D

Neither do I but I like your attitude so I'm responding. :D

On a side-note, it's always fun to come to the end of very long discussions like this one and see how far off-topic things have morphed. I see people arguing over Disney and Pixar. Somehow, that's just awesome.

AT&T and Verizon for not supporting the Apple Sim. To make it easier, just hate evey company that's not Apple. Unless Apple buys them, then they suddenly become good. :D

Beats still make over-priced, rubbish headphones. Also, I question Dr Dre's credentials. I don't think he is a a real doctor.

Well, Pirates of the Caribbean, high school musical, Hannah Montana, and more didn't exactly hurt them. Certainly Pixar helped but wouldn't say it was ever really dying.

What successful cartoons have they made since the early 90s? (And yes, I call 3D CGI stuff 'cartoons', deal with it).

Before Pixar, all they were doing is making rubbish sequels to existing cartoons. Now they're up to date with the latest technology and IMO making the best animated films around. I think it saved their reputation as animators, which TBH is what they're known for being good at.

This move only speaks to the culture and character of those who manage CVS and RiteAid.
I'll be boycotting both stores and Walgreens will be getting my business.

Companies that see the waves of progressive & disruptive change and instead of embracing the change, futilely try to eclipse the world and slow adoption will eventually drown in the wave.

Technology will forever change and no one has a right to a timelessly stable source of income. Revenue streams of old tech will dry up, so just keep up with the change.

B= Cash is used by the underworld.
C= Cash is king of the underworld.

Forget Cash!, Forget NFC!

I''m going to pay with my Gold Bars!! :D

You missed my point. It wasn't about who could make this work. I don't recall people here wishing Apple would come up with a payment system. IMO, people here are enraged because someone defied Apple. And if it was another company, it wouldn't get much attention, especially here.

I have no problem with what Apple has done. I have merely pointed out what I find to be extremely comical with some of the posts in these threads, that's all.

You and I see it differently. I see people in an uproar because they realize the same thing that I do: These companies are turning this off only to stifle competition.

I suppose we'll have to agree to disagree.

I did my duty and stopped at Walgreen's tonight and spent a fair amount of money. Just so happened, I used Apple Pay, but that wasn't the sole point.

Seriously. You're like the 20th in person in the thread who's had that same silly suggestion...

Thank you for reading all 2400+ posts and noticing that several others had the same idea. Next time I will read all the posts to be sure that my idea is original before posting... no I won't.

Just purchased some Wireless Studio's (Gold, of course) from Apple. Paid using Pay. So fast and convenient. Also, the headphones sound GREAT. I have Audio Technica ATH-M50's too, and while the beats are a bit bass heavy, they are fun to listen to, and do provide really nice clarity through the range.

Basically, the Beats are worth the money IMHO.

I tried out some studio wireess beats headphones yesterday and they were worth the money. However, I spent $20 more for the Parrot Zik headphones as they had slightly better sound. I want to see what Apple does to rebrand Beats and then I will likely pull the trigger. I love the fact that Beats are bass heavy. I tried out the wireless headphones in the beats lebron commercial and they were so terrible. They were all treble and no bass. I immediately took them back. I was like umm... does Beats not know who their market is? If I wanted crappy headphones I could just stick with my stock Apple headphones. Accept the headphones n the Lebron commercial make Apple headphones sound like heaven.

To be honest, I do think that there are some here that see it the way that you do and I respect that. But is it to stifle competition or is it to use another system that they prefer for their own reasons or interests? It's not like Apple doesn't do the same thing themselves.

I've heard the in-ear Beats are only so-so. It's too bad, as they would make nice work-out headphones.

For now, I'll just stick to my Motorola S9-HD for working out. They sound good enough -- and they didn't cost $200 :)

What successful cartoons have they [Walt Disney] made since the early 90s?

Before Toy Story (1995) / Pixar:

Beauty and the Beast (1991) $424M
Aladdin (1992) $504M / $217M US highest grossing film in 1992
The Lion King (1994) $987M / highest grossing hand-drawn in history
Pocahontas (1995) $346M

After Toy Story, but before Pixar was purchased (2006) :

The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996) $325M / 5th highest grossing film in 1996
Hercules (1997) $253M
Mulan (1998) $304M
Tarzan (1999) $448M
Dinosaur (2000) $349M / 5th highest grossing film in 2000
The Emperor's New Groove (2000) $169M
Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001) $186M
Lilo & Stitch (2002) $273M
Brother Bear (2003) $250M
Chicken Little (2005) $314M

After Pixar was purchased:

Meet the Robinsons (2007) $169M
Bolt (2008) $310M
The Princess and the Frog (2009) $267M
Tangled (2010) $591M
Wreck-It-Ralph (2012) $471M
Frozen (2013) $1.3B / 5th highest grossing film of all time

The only truly unsuccessful film was Treasure Planet (2002), although Fantasia 2000 (1999), Home on the Range (2004), and Winne the Pooh (2011) all had lackluster earnings.

So what does any of this have to do with CVS? LOL!

Really??

Almost 2500 post? Is it really that serious. My thoughts on the actual post, hopefully this leads to some competition which will push the overall product to be even more outstanding. But I doubt anything can really compete effectively against Apple Pay and the support behind it. Consumers are eating this up. Didn't realize how big and important this was until it was actually available for use, and people seemed to be going crazy anxious to use it.

Do you feel the same way about Apple removing Bose products from their retail stores?

Or how about Apple rejecting/banning apps that provide links to their own apps stores (e.g. Aple rejecting Amazon's Kindle app since it linked to Amazon's own store)?

I guess when Apple makes rules to eliminate competitors in their own store (which they have every right to do), it's OK. When anyone else does it, it's time for all of us fanatics to bash them and claim they are stifling competition
