There will always be bottlenecks regardless of the CPU and GPU being used
To be sure, the point was that I was comparing my PC vs. My Studio, and as I stated I'd be surprised and disappointed if the M4 Max has a cpu bottleneck playing cyberpunk where the 3700x did not, especially given how much faster the M4 Max is compared to the AMD 3700X

Usually 1080p resolution is primarily used in game benchmarking to check CPU performance.
Higher resolutions tax the GPU, and are used to benchmark GPU performance.

I can see upscaling having a net benefit, but I'm not all that jazzed up for frame generation. As I mentioned, if I'm getting performance w/o DLSS/FSR, I see no reason to have it turned on. Cyberpunk is a good example, I'm getting 120FPS on average

For the Mac it smooths things out and makes the game play a better experience.
I don’t use frame generation. I find the lag or lack of responsiveness noticeable, even if it’s just slight. Frame generation would not be worthwhile on MacBook where the base FPS for the average hardware might be 30fps for certain titles.

I find it more tolerable when playing with a controller.

I would think the majority of non-console players use the keyboard and mouse

Most people I know who play on the pc do not use a controller
My PC is in the living room (for now), so playing with mouse and keyboard is inconvenient.

Same here. I play on my pc which is connected to the tv. I play with the controller casually because it’s a not a competitive shooter.

However I can I play with mouse and keyboard too if I wish. I also use this lap desk and mouse with my MBP and iPad Pro with Logi combo touch keyboard.

Ready to play cp2077 on any device. Hahaha I want it on my m1 ipad now. Because it has a small screen, outputting the game at 50% of the native resolution, it should look less smudgy than on my mac. This is why the game runs well on the switch 2, a small screen hides artifacts.

I wanted to get a couch/lap desk like that. I stopped looking when I originally had my PC at am actual desk. Wife complained that I wasn't around when on my PC so I moved the new one (SFF) to my living room.

I need to see if this game on macOS see's my 8-bitdo controller.

Yeah, with no upscaling or frame gen, maxed settings, 4k, all ray tracing on avg 33.12fps. Min 28.68, max 39.77. That's on a 9800x3d/rtx5090. lol
That’s why I changed out my 4k monitior back to a 2k monitor. Playing at 4k was just not worth it. Question, on the4k monitor, when I changed the resolution of a game, to 2k, it only filled half the screen. Is there a way on the 4k monitor to play at 2k, but tell it to fill the monitor’s screen, and how would it look?

Some games looks terrible if not played at the native resolution of the screen.

Nintendo switch games look fab on my 4k oled TV. When i bought my PC to play on the TV, I expected to play 1440p as that's what my GPU could handle rasterised. However with CP20277 at 1440p looks soft and a bit washed out at that resolution on my TV. As a result I played at 4k with DLSS and the visuals are night and day different. In general 1440p doesn't scale well to 4k.

For gaming on the Mac, you are better off with a 1440p or 1080 display so that CP2077 can be played as the native solution of the screen.

That is where you would want to use upscaling to render the game at 2K then upscale to 4K to fill out the display. You could also set the monitor resolution to 2K in system settings, but you'd likely have a noticeably softer image overall.
