>>> thanks for the feedback -- during the next battle, I'll do that. This one is as good as over, anyway.
Bartolomeo ran between the dead horses and leaped with his greataxe in his hand aiming to knock the goblin out. He made sure that the hit will be blunt, and to regulate his strength further -- he wanted to knock the goblin out, not cave its head in --
*** CHECK ***
Again, there is advantage since the goblin is fleeing (and sprawled on the ground to boot). Also, no shield, so:
Bartolomeo: 5 + 15 = 20 - success
Bartolomeo: 5 + 14 = 19 - success
Whew, no critical hit this time, so:
Bartolomeo: 3 + 5 = 8
You hit the goblin for 8 damage, taking it to 0 hp. This takes the goblin to -6 hp, so the goblin lives (explanation: if you hit it and take it to negatively same or more than its full hp (i.e. 7 here) you kill it instantly)

-- and hit slightly harder than anticipated --
shouldn't have leaped like that -- but no body parts caved or exploded. The goblin went limp and dropped to the ground. Bartolomeo checked its pulse -- still alive.

@twietee you're up. You know what to do.
