I am thinking of going to the 6s plus from the 6, I need some insight on daily life with the plus, going to the gym, work, grocery store etc, also has it been a pain or a joy, is the battery life and ois worth the portability of the smaller 6s .

I have the 6 plus and find it now a year later - to be too big.
Driving - getting in and out of the car, I need to remove it from my pocket.
Sitting on the couch - take it out of my pocket.
Commuting - doesn't work well one handed.
Running - too big, I avoid taking it with me, even though I have an arm pocket for it.

If I have an opportunity, I'll downsize to the 6s but given how much money I spent on this, its hard to justify spending more money a year later.

imo most of what you find irritating, i really don't mind..

I'm very happy with my plus-sized phones (first 6+, now 6s+). I'm on the taller side (6'2") so that is probably a factor, but it's perfectly comfortable for me to use it, I can leave it in my pocket, and can use it one-handed during my commute. Occasionally I use the double-tap-to-lower-screen feature to bring something at the top in reach, or if I'm sitting it's not a big deal to occasionally use my other hand.

Battery life on my 6+, and so far for the little bit I've had my 6s+, is fine. I'd estimate I'm a "moderate" user.

The extra screen real estate and camera features are very much worth it for me.

I just got the 6s plus and I have been thinking of getting the armpocket for it to take to the gym. Do you have the i-40 mega version? Thoughts will running? TIA!

6plus owner here. I have never thought of going back. I goto the gym everyday sometimes it falls out of my pocket but not enough to bother me. My 5 fell out of my pocket. I think the only time I really notice the size of the phone is when I have work clothes on and have to put it in my pocket. Doesn't always fit in nicely. If I am wearing suit pants, ect. But again for me I enjoy the bigger phone. I use my phone for everything. Love that I can email on it, and pictures, and just have more real estate of the screen. I was nervous at first around having to lug around a bigger phone but it feels normal now. Everything else feels to small.

I opted for a waist running band over an armband. Much more comfortable.
I had a 5s and the upgrade to the 6plus was big .I love the size and battery more each day and to be honest the size is easier to handle than a smaller phone in my hand .

I had the 6+ and the Note 3 & 4. I didn't find the size to be a liability for normal errands, use, etc. The size became inconvenient for me while traveling where one-handed usability is a premium for me (I have big hands). It didn't help that I used Otterbox cases for it, but I needed the extra protection for the accidents that always seem to happen when traveling (I had a client kill my Note 4 by knocking it off a shelf in a data center when it was in a lesser case). I also didn't care for laying it on restaurant tables when eating lunch or dinner with clients. It was usually a conversation piece (not necessarily bad) that I didn't care to partake in.

With that being said, I loved the 6+. I loved the battery life and screen real estate. The battery life made life significantly easier traveling as I hate trying to find outlets at busy airports. The big screen made reading business docs much easier and faster. I now have the 6s and think I will miss the battery life, but love the smaller size so far. I have it in Mophie Plus case, so battery life shouldn't be an issue. We will see.

Good luck with your choice!

I feel the same way about holding it. It really feels like a small tablet when I carry it around.

I only have an iPhone 5.
But the one thing I regret was buying a MacBook Air 13" instead of the 11" model. I figure hey, that extra screen size, longer battery life, and sd card were what I needed.

Fast forward to now 2015, I'm currently traveling around the world, man how I wished I had a MacBook Air 11". I think the smaller the better as far as daily activities goes because of the portable size , and you can snipe pictures of people without them knowing.

I have a 6 Plus since launch day for my personal phone (work phone was a 5s). I just retired the 5s, moved the 6 Plus to the work line, and upgraded my personal line to the 6s Plus. So I have two giant iPhones. :) I thought of getting the 6s, but really just can't imagine a smaller screen. It's great for watching movies, browsing...seeing more of everything. Having an Apple Watch means that I am fishing it out of my pocket less, but I find it very manageable.

Me personally I was on the fence. I have the 6s and has the 6. This was the first year I was considering the plus. Just came back from the Apple Store where I was online to get the 6s plus but then I realized I would miss the portability and just being able to use it as a phone. They both have their strengths but for me right now bigger isn't better. I will wish for more battery but that's really it. I think the appeal of having the bigger screen wears off and let's be honest the 6s camera is pretty damn good.

I am coming from a 6 and purposely chose a 6S Plus for my upgrade through IUP on Launch Day.

Love the bigger screen, feels heavy in my hands but not too heavy, and it's wicked fast and reliable already. I'm also a girl with fairly small hands but I don't find occasional one-handed use to be that cumbersome. It's all how well you balance. :)

Honestly, I really can't see myself going back to a smaller form size ever again.

I owned both the 6/6+ and now the 6S/6S+, and I definitely prefer the non-plus - it's a lot more portable and convenient in more scenarios where I'm doing one handed operation.

The Plus series has a nicer screen and better camera, but really it feels more like an iPad nano than an iPhone. That's how I use it really... when my iPad mini isn't quite portable enough but I need a large screen I use the 6S+ instead.

Nothing beats the iPad Air when I need to use an iOS device on a table / bed / sofa / anywhere stationary.

The cost of selling a 6 Plus is pretty high. Should be a fairly low upgrade cost to purchase the regular 6s.

I had the 6 plus and switched to the 6s. I used to complain that the plus was too big to carry and of course that it didn't fit in my pockets etc.

After using the 6s for a few days I desperately miss the plus. I find I still use the 6s with two hands like I did the plus and I don't put the 6s in my pocket anyway. I miss the battery life and beautiful big screen of the plus. Yes it can be annoying to carry but in hindsight it wasn't so bad.

These were my complaints as well. The size is awesome but it just doesn't work as an every day phone device. Add to the list that pretty much everyone behind you can see what you're doing with that big screen (Tinder, Fidelity stocks/investments, etc). And if you think you can take that thing to the Gym and lift weights on bench without fear think twice.

I sold my 6 Plus and got what I thought was a decent amount (even after the new device announcement) through swappa.com, that's what helped me make the jump. My 128 GB 6s is a phone I may actually keep all the way through the end of its AppleCare coverage :X

I got the 6s + coming from the 6. I am a lot happier with the bigger size. This is my second day with the beast, couldn't be happier. I made the best decision. I contemplated on getting it at first for a long time, but everytime I saw the plus out in the wild, I wished I had one myself, so I went for it. Best decision ever made.

Only had it for a full 3 days but so far battery life is amazing for me. It is very big so it is near the top of the my jean pockets but it isn’t an issue as i’m not going to get it out my pocket all the time when out and about as thats why i bought the apple watch. It’s a great combo.

Love the screen size it’s perfect for my day to day usage.
