daily life with the 6s plus

I take my Vespa everywhere and used a Lifeproof bike mount to keep my 5s front and center (I use Waze as a GPS). Just scored a Ram Mount setup to mount my 6s Plus.

So, daily life is pretty good so far for me with the Plus. I own a small business and my 5s was used for many things. I'm that much better off with the larger device.

I scored a 6s at the same time and considered keeping them both, but didn't even take the 6s out of the box once I fell for the Plus. I've already sent it back to Apple. As much as the 6s is a nice phone vis a vis the 5s, the Plus is that much better for how I use a smartphone.

Last year I couldn't decide which size to get, so I went with a 6 because I was worried about the size. After a year I realize the 6 is no small phone as it is. I took that out in the car anyways. But even with the plus now I hardly notice it in my pocket. No more so than the 6. The 6 always used to end up sideways in my pocket which was an annoyance anyway, the plus doesn't do that.

I pick up my 6 and know I could never leave my 6S+. The screen, keyboard all work for me. I also use a small waist pack for my runs or with pants with no pockets and it fits nicely next to the GLOCK!

What are these waist packs you guys are using with your 6+? I had a hard time with mine going running, arm bands just didn't cut it...

I tried the 6s plus over the weekend. Coming from the 6 I thought I wouldn't notice the size at all. I was wrong... I felt that the phone was too wide still (using it without a case) and I felt that since I had to adjust my grip often to reach the sides it always made me worry that I might drop it. I've never used my phone with any cases and I did not have this problem with the 6. Also, I had to take it in and out of my pocket as I sit down or stand up because it felt awkward.
Although. the battery, the camera and the screen is really awesome on the 6s plus but its just not for me. Went to the store and got myself a 6s and now it feels much better without the 6s plus envy.

Daily life of the 6s plus is awesome. I like big phones always have. I previously had the note 3 whilst also have the 5s. So I had the best of both world. Commuting with this device is a breeze. I wear fitted chinos and don't have a problem with the phone fitting in my pants.
I don't wear skinny jeans, I could imagine that being a problem.
When listing down on a couch tend to always take stuff out of my pocket, I guess it's something Normal most of us do for comfort.
I love the feeling of a big phone, it's sort of like a boss with his gadgets lol.

It's very manly

It's the best iPhone I've ever owned.

If the iPhone 6/6s size is easily a one-handed device for you, it's more complicated, but if the 6/6s is difficult in one hand, I recommend going as big as possible.

I've had a nexus 6 for the past year and have not had any struggles that people here are claiming. I use it at the gym without issue. I don't have a pair of jeans it doesn't fit in. A lot of the time I use it with one hand. Although I can see where someone with small hands would not be able to do that. I've never once thought it was an inconvenience since owning it and I don't think my 6s plus will be either.

Last year I was torn between the 6 and 6 plus. I did the cardboard cutout thing and everything trying to decide. Finally settled on the 6 plus. I do miss the convenience of smaller phone, 4s and 5s. But when upgrading this year was an easy choice going with the 6s plus.

The screen size, 1080hp and super battery life were thing I couldn't give up, once I had experienced them. With 4s I had to get a battery case to last me the whole day. The 6 plus always made it home with reserve. I found I could not go without a case for the 6 plus, as it was too slippery for me. The Apple black leather case solved that for me. One handed use is natural for me now with the leather cased 6 plus.

The black case held up extremely well, looks brand new after full year of use and has been moved to the 6s plus without issues. Saved $50 bucks for a change. Desired to go another year with black face. With black case it's a look I have not yet tired of. Have had both black and white faced phones. Think the seven will be a white face. It's nice to change every so often.

I pocket the plus, jeans, shirt pocket, and suit coat. also find myself carrying it in hand more than the smaller phones before. I reserve one pants pocket for just the phone, shake it out weekly in case I pick up any sand and keep the micro fiber cloth in same pocket. The only place I notice the slightly heavier 6s plus is in shirt pocket. In the hand I rather like the slightly heavier feel.

3D Touch is quickly becoming natural. So much so that I miss it on my iPad Air 2. I use it over the home button more and more. Learning to navigate minus home button as I believe it will diasappear with the 7. Finger print ID becoming part of main screen. Only reason I have for this is a feeling as the last two software and now hardware have been offering more and more alternate commands to the home button. I think Apple is training us, so once the home button disappears it won't be such a huge transition.

I can see physical size height and width of phone being slightly reduced, smaller bezels with same screen sizes. And of course thinner, LOL, ever thinner. My 6s plus has settled down after an easy setup. Battery life is better than my 6 plus. I did a zero to 100 percent charge and got 36 hour standby with 18 hour use. Listening to Apple Music constantly. Uploaded 250 CDs everything I have and enrolled in Apple Music also keeping match subscription as that maintains my clean ownership of my CDs. Nice to have 30 million songs on hand via Apple Music and the cloud. Grooving on German schlager music, Andrea Berg as I write this.

Everyone enjoy your choices 6s, 6s Plus, other phones. Kids growing up today won't have a memory of the before smart phone time. Seems amazing to me. Part of my youth were dreams of having a communicator from watching Star Trek. ;)

Post of the day!

I had the 6 plus and switched to the 6s. I used to complain that the plus was too big to carry and of course that it didn't fit in my pockets etc.

After using the 6s for a few days I desperately miss the plus. I find I still use the 6s with two hands like I did the plus and I don't put the 6s in my pocket anyway. I miss the battery life and beautiful big screen of the plus. Yes it can be annoying to carry but in hindsight it wasn't so bad.

I could never go back to a smaller screen after using the plus and now the S plus. The S plus turns out to have been well worth the upgrade from last years phone for the greatly improved performance alone, even without the new camera and 3D Touch capabilities.

Whether you go large or go small, there will be moments when you regret your choice. That's okay!

For myself, the larger phone is great. Though it is a matter of what you are used to, I am coming from a Galaxy Note 3 phablet. In ancient times, (2009 or so) I upgraded my Palm Treo to the HTC EVO 4G, an Android phone with a GIGANTIC screen, all of 4.2 inches or so. Soon thereafter, Dell (yes, Dell) came out with a monstrous phone called the Streak, which had an absurdly large five inch screen. People made jokes about how ridiculous people looked using it to make a call. Now five inches is on the smaller end of the phone spectrum...

I do have to use two hands for some operations on my phone. The other benefits of going large outweigh this in my opinion. I don't have the wardrobe malfunctions described by others, but I don't usually exercise with my phone. That's what my iPod Touch is for....

Sounds like you are usually unhappy with the large phone. A year is more than enough time to make a fair judgement on that, so I hope you are able to swing a 4S before long...and it is okay for you to prefer the smaller phone. The real men among us promise not to make wry comments about your manhood except out of your hearing... (Okay, I'm kidding about the wry comments and the real men part!).

By the way, you might try shifting your Plus into the smallest available case. I bought an Otterbox Commuter case for my 6S Plus, and have retired it as unusable. I will try to use it only on overseas trips when I really don't want to drop and break my phone, or times when the threat level is high.

I am thinking of going to the 6s plus from the 6, I need some insight on daily life with the plus, going to the gym, work, grocery store etc, also has it been a pain or a joy, is the battery life and ois worth the portability of the smaller 6s .

If your main priority from a phone is ease of portability and one handed use etc then don't get a phablet. The 6S+ is really for someone who uses their phone a heck of a lot for internet browsing, films and reading etc. There is also the huge battery life but all of these things come at a cost, and that cost is the size. It's a big phone.

Some people prefer to own a smaller phone and a tablet, or a smaller phone and a laptop. The Plus phones are really for people who live on their phone and use it as a media consumption device that also has mobile phone capabilities. Do you really need the bigger battery? Do you really need OIS? Are they worth the trade-offs of easy pocketability and one-handed use? Only you can decide.

I went from a 6 to 6s Plus and am loving it.

Yes one handed use is difficult, but the extra screen real estate, 3D Touch, optical image stabilization, and battery life are great.

Heavier, and make sure you get a good grip on it when moving it around - I'm more prone to dropping it.

My 6 plus was replaced by the 6s plus and is my daily driver for most things work and now personal as I just gave up my GS6...I just didn't want to carry 2 phones around anymore,,,That may now change with the announcement of the New Nexus 6p. But anyway back to my 6s plus. Honestly I friggin love it!!! It's just a device I can't see moving away from anytime soon. My girl has the 6 and yes it's extremely hand friendly, however for my needs its just way to small. I have big paws to begin with and for me the Plus does everything I need and more.
