What do you think about a request letter or petition to Apple to provide dark theme for all ios7 devices? I can't see anything hard to made this for apple r&d.
I think about dark theme from first days on ios7, because white one is too bright on min in darkness and also annoys on spacegray sometimes.
I found great new look of "remote", Will be great to see such style for main music app, messages and so on.

I've been using the invert colors feature to she it at night especially for sites that have a white background. Makes it much easier to read. I set my home button to it so I can triple click to turn it on.

The interface in the FaceTime app is perfect. I'd definitely put my name down for that option.

Given how iOS 7 was designed, it should be (relatively) easy to make this possible. Would it not be just assigning different colors? They do it pretty well with maps.

Also, I think Jony and Craig are more likely to listen to people than Steve and Scott were. Given that this wouldn't be too difficult of a feature to implement, creating a petition may actually do us good.

Edit: Here's a mockup I did a while ago. What I find very interesting is that all of those vibrant colors that it uses, Work just as well against white vs. black. I think that was probably intentional. The more I think about it, I'd be surprised if we don't see this by iOS 8 (but i'd rather 7.1).

Some good ideas going here, guys.

As was posted above, setting triple-click home to Invert Colors helps wonders in the meantime.

But you'd think they'd be able to come up with a dark theme after all these years. How would this not be more useful than parallax?...

Poll?

Honestly, I think the reason they forwent the dark theme was because it'd look too much like Android, which uses a dark theme because many Android devices use an OLED screen (black isn't "on," so it doesn't use up battery).

But every time I see that black keyboard pop up on my iPhone or iPad… stunning.

Yes, Dark theme... bring it on... I would like ability to pick theme for each individual apps... Some apps looks nice with white theme some looks good with dark theme

Apple went out of their way to introduce some bright colors with iOS 7 and the iPhone 5C. i doubt they are going to undo that by allowing dark themes.

Apple is also smart not to give customers everything they want.

The remote.app looks much better than the music.app.

P.S. Anyone know how to make linked images appear smaller? Those are huge!

So all of you agree with me, glad to see that.
I will write example with main points and post it here to collect all your advices and edit my message to apple.

You mean too much like Windows Phone, which has a *drumroll please* light theme and dark theme? ;)

Dark theme request

Who cares about WinPhone or Android comparison?
After IOS7 release everyone compared it with Android, win8, Miui and other stuff, laughing out that iOS7 is a piece of plagiarism. I just use my device and want more comfort in night. I don't want to twirl like a crazy home button every time I need to check picture or smthing else in dark
Also I want my spacegray looks better.

Just asked who wants to help...
Sorry for bad english

I'm not keen on the full-on black in your mockups, but the dark grey elements in facetime and Private Safari browsing are perfect.

I was about to go turn on inverted colours when I read that these are just mockups :(
