Goodness, I felt the opposite when my sister-in-law unboxed the 38 mm pink sport we bought her for her birthday yesterday: "Damn, that's a really good looking watch. Maybe I overspent getting Stainless Steel on a first generation watch. I could have had a really nice watch for $350."

Really it was lightweight and felt better on my wrist than my SS, and it was really attractive in person. It does have a more "Swatch" type of vibe to it, but I equate that with fun and sportiness, not cheapness. Sis was thrilled with her Sport and didn't even look twice at my SS watch with black sport band. I was the one who kept staring at her watch.

This is similar to what happened with my partner when we went to try on the watch. Before, he was eyeing the black SS, even though we both felt shelling out $1000+ for the watch was a bit too much. Then we got to the store, the person helping us brought out a tray of watches, and my partner picked up a dark-colored watch and asked "Is this the black SS?" I said, "No, that's the Grey aluminum." My partner was like "Really? Wow, this is nice," and never took another look at the SS watches.

Well I originally wanted the 42mm SG sport, until I try it on. Wasn't impressed by the way it look on my wrist. Try the 42mm SS with classic buckle, and the reaction from my wife and her girl friends. Said it all, they were like Wow! That's the one. And as much as I hate to admit it, they are right. So I ordered the SS with BSB for myself, and a 38mm SS WSB for my wife.

From reading these threads, people are saying the get the sport because it's 1gen. Because gen2 will be here next year, it will be better So I will get the SS then. So what I am getting from this is. I like the SS better but it's gen1, so I will just spend 350-400 on something I really don't like. But I can live with it until gen2.

Now I can understand if $350-400 is all one can afford to spend on the AW. But if u have the extra $200 to spend for the SS. Then why not go for it? Yes Apple could come out with gen2 next year. And at the same they may not, no one knows for sure. So why not go for what u really like if u can afford it? Wether it be G1,G2,G3. Etc.

Don't know if I will be around for Gen2, and I really like the way SS look on my wrist so that's the one I ordered. If I live to see Gen 2 or 3 etc. then I will get the one I like as well. Also the weight of the Sport, is not much of dramatic differents from the SS. One can work out in either models at least to me. I plan to with mine, cycling, gym, track days on my Gixxer1000. U name it I will be doing it all. In the end get what u like AW Sport, AW, AW edition. If u can afford it go for it. People tomorrow is not promise to anyone. Live every day as if its your last. And not just for your self, but your love ones as well. Just my 2cents I am just saying.

To be honest I didn't care much for the Milanese band in the beginning. It's still just 'Ok" IMO, but didn't like the feel of the leather bands. My preference which I also have on order is the Black sports band for working out and link Steel band. I knew the link band would take for ever so opted for the Milanese to try out. I also figured the Milanese band only would be easy to sell if wanting to not use.

As for the Milanese I don't find the band slipping and stays very secure. For those with the hairy arm comments lol, never really consider myself having hairy arms, but Im not 16 either or a body builder or a model who shaves there arm hair lol...The Milanese band doesn't pull on the hair lol

Yes this is just my opinion on face size. The 38 mm does seems really tiny when looking at text or other information. The 42 mm is large, but makes seeing things easier. As for my daughter I actually liked the 42 mm better on her arm. We also have a white sports band SS 42 mm. My daughter is 12 and wore that for several days while waiting on her pink sport. I think girls/woman can get away with bigger watch faces as seems to be a trend.

Someone describe the sports edition as looking more like a "swatch watch". That really sums it up well.

Oh and the Mickey Face----I work in Childrens Hospital so appropriate for work setting and if you didnt know already lol that can be changed with ease lol

They need to find a way to make stainless steel matte and also make stainless steel lighter, then I'll consider a stainless steel apple watch... oh wait. :)
