It would be nice to see some discounts in the UK.
There's always a comment like this in every thread.

Apple is a US-based company. It only makes sense that the U.S gets certain products and discounts other countries don't. There are also fewer regulations in the U.S that allow us to have more of these products and discounts.

The U.S and China are also Apple's two biggest markets. Europe is Apple's lowest margin market.

Does it cost more to ship these items to the U.K?

All of these would be why Apple doesn't want to offer a discount there.

AirPods Max have now reached a full $100 off their original price tag of $549.00, available only on Adorama as of writing. You can get all AirPods Max colors for $449.00 during this sale, including Pink, Silver, Sky Blue, Green, and Space Gray.

This sale beats the current Amazon price tag by about $30, and is now a new all-time low price on the AirPods Max. The high-end headphones are in stock on Adorama and ready to ship, and the retailer does offer some free shipping options.

Shoppers should note that there have been a few oddities on Adorama's website today, and you may notice the $100 off deal disappear when clicking through various colors on the retailer's page. Closing out and clicking back into the website through one of the links in this article does seem to help.

AirPods Max feature Active Noise Cancellation technology and the same Transparency mode, Adaptive EQ, and spatial audio features that are in the AirPods Pro. For charging, the headphones come with a Smart Case made out of a soft material that puts AirPods Max in an ultra low-power state to preserve battery charge when not in use.

We track sales for every model of the AirPods in our Best AirPods Deals guide, so be sure to bookmark that page while you shop around for the wireless headphones.

I have been looking for some replacement headphones. I have had my Sennheiser's for about 20 years. hahaha. But they have been great for my needs. They are very natural. No amplified bass but plenty of punch. Really hear the entire frequency range, instrument sounds, etc... I still am thinking wired... I do live video w/headphone monitors and do NOT need any latency. Not even a few milliseconds. Any recommendations in the $250-300 range? I love the natural sound field but like bass too. I like noise cancelling but a good seal is good for me. Are ther any wireless suitable for live video and audio? Thx!!!

I think Apple was really trying to push spacial audio to sell these almost as the audio equivalent to HD video pushing HDTV sales, but everybody kinda of sees it for what it is, a gimmick.
Agreed. That spatial audio and Dolby ATMOS either makes every song I listen to muddy trash, or does not work. Pink Floyd sounds like it’s being played from behind a pillow. Weezer songs sounds like they have Down’s syndrome, or are on suicide watch. And AppleMusic apparently can’t handle the awesomeness of The Replacements. Maybe I need to listen to Hip Hop and be one of the cool kids?

Keep dropping...
Starting to get closer to the right range here.

Should be $399, max...
Pun intended
Agreed. It kills me Apple discontinued HomePod. If anything those were much better value at their launch price versus these things, and look what happened to them. 😔

The HomePod price dropped, admittedly too little too late but nonetheless it is an example of Apple reacting to lack of demand.

The price dropped so they could move the inventory they manufactured and kill the product. That’s a bit different than dropping the price but continuing to develop the product line as they did with the original iPhone. I bought the original iPhone at its introductory price and wasn’t happy when I heard the news about the price drop but Apple made it right by giving original iPhone buyers who paid the original price Apple Store credit that was equivalent to the difference. I didn’t use it because I wasn’t fully into the Mac ecosystem back then but I did appreciate the thought behind it. They certainly didn’t have to do that. It was obvious why they did it though. The original iPhone was like nothing I’d ever seen before even with the crappy AT&T edge data connection. Within the first few minutes of using it I knew it was something special.

Overpriced niche product that does not impress with anything and will be discontinued just like the Home Pod.

I'm not sure I understand the sentiment expressed in this thread. Is $550 a lot of money?

FYI the Airpods Max at $550 is the 53rd most expensive headphone on this list:

I think the more relevant comparisons are with the other mainstream models seen as competitors.

Bose QC35
Bose NC700
Sony WH-1000XM4
Sony WH-1000XM3

All of them are significantly less expensive (particularly actual street pricing on sales, etc) and subjectively better in certain aspects depending upon ones preferences and priorities.

Top-of-the-line headphones costing $2000+ do not have:

- wireless connectivity
- noise cancellation
- largely metal construction
- microphone
- spatial audio
- etc.

The Airpods Max sound great. I've had mine since a month after the launch. You're getting A LOT of sound quality, features, build quality, and tech for $550. I can't speak for the other Sony and Bose noise-cancelling wireless headphones, but as far as I'm concerned, the AirPods Max's competitors are $2000 headphones, not $400 headphones.

Isn't it hard to say that if you have no experience with the Sony and Bose models?

The Sony's and Bose's are much better than I think you might be giving them credit for.

In certain aspects, like weight, battery life, comfort, EQ ability (many really) -- some may prefer them.

You have no reference points in the field of competitors I listed, by your own admission, correct?

If I follow your logic, does that mean I shouldn't be making any claims about the quality of a $50,000 car unless I've also driven $40,000 cars?

I think you know this is a little different than that.

If you are curious, you can try most of these things at retail stores (Best Buy)

Anyways - let's not litigate it.
If you are happy with what you have, that's great by me!
