I wish Amazon would put this on sale in Canada. Actually, I just wish anyone would put this on sale in Canada. :(

Game changer accessory. $200 is the right price. Probably my favorite accessory since Airpods. Never cared for the iPad Pro 11" as a tablet but the magic keyboard basically makes it a small computer.

10.5" was the best iPad for tablet use IMO.

If I knew it would fit the upcoming 2021 iPad Pro 11 I'd probably bite. My 2018 has a cracked screen that Apple wanted $500 to fix (and third party wouldn't fix since the frame is slightly bent too). So I got a iPad Air 4 instead and have been using both and they would both work with it. But I do plan on replacing the 11 Pro with the new one when it is released.

The iPad event is rumored for April, though hard to say for sure if it will happen in the next 30 days. But you could buy it keeping it sealed, and return at the end of the return window if the event doesn't happen. Or if there really is a new magic keyboard for 2021 iPad. I bought a 12.9" magic keyboard I got from Costco recently (sale is over now though), and am just hoping to know soon if it'll be compatible.

I'm really hoping the magic keyboards remain compatible. They came out after the 2020 iPad Pro models (feels like much longer ago, doesn't it?). If they really are releasing a new magic keyboard, that's going to be an expensive upgrade to go to the 2021 model and keyboard.

Unless Apple decides to dramatically change the Smart Connector then I don’t think the a new version will be incompatible. I think the more likely scenario is that they might simply release an updated version of the magic keyboard that fits the 2018, 2020, and 2021 iPad Pros plus the 2020 Air. There were some patent rumors a while back about a slot to stow the Apple Pencil securely in the hinge, and maybe they’ll increase the range of motion.

This has always been such a strange, over-engineered, overpriced peripheral. IMHO they had already perfected the Smart Keyboard with the 'origami' style foldable keyboard of the 10.5" iPad Pro, which also allowed for more angles. The price was slightly steep but reasonable.
Nope

magic Keyboard is really magic! I was very sceptical but love it. And have it for my 11 and 12.

Started buying it as a charging stand but love it now everyday because it’s more stable than older keyboard versions.

I recently bought one on sale and it dramatically changed the way I use my 11" iPad Pro. I used to use my 13" MBP for web surfing and watching videos. Now with the Magic Keyboard I find myself grabbing the iPad Pro more often. There are some applications (eBay, Zillow and Youtube) that I think are just better on iOS. Plus I like having the combination of keyboard, trackpad and touch screen. I love mine.

Only use portrait on apps that force it (mostly merchants who can't be bothered with having two orientations in their design).
Lazy developers! - really pisses me off as my iPad is stuck in a Logitech keyboard case in landscape mode.

What pisses me off even more is them offering deals and free shipping "in-app" exclusively when the website has 99.9% exactly the same functionality.

I did this, bought it, haven't opened it yet, and I'm hoping they announce if the new iPads are compatible before the return window closes.

I think I'm going to pick one up as well. I hardly use my iPad as is so if I have to spend $200 to improve functionality I'm all for it. My hope with the keyboard is that I can use it in many instances when I would normally gravitate to my laptop.
The camera is my hugest hesitancy lol. I want to use it for Teams, Webex and Zoom...
Thanks for sharing your experience.
Unless you already use your iPad a lot already don't expect the MK to make it that much more useful. Yes it's much better for typing than the on-screen keyboard or anything similar, but it puts your iPad into "laptop mode" and even though its easier to take off you're likely to just leave it on, making it a smaller, less versatile MacBook. Like others have mentioned, the limitation is not so much the hardware (though the lack of function keys is inexcusable) but iPad OS. MacBooks are the better device for most people than iPad Pros with MKs are, you are gravitating towards your laptop for good reason, it's better for your needs.

Amazon is continuing to discount Apple's Magic Keyboard for the 11-inch iPad Pro at $199.00, down from $299.00. This remains the lowest price that we've ever tracked for this Magic Keyboard, which can also be used with the fourth generation iPad Air.

This deal on the Magic Keyboard first appeared earlier in 2021, and it's been one of the most consistent deals on this accessory. The Magic Keyboard provides a full keyboard with a trackpad, backlit keys, and a new floating cantilever design that lets you adjust the iPad Pro to find the best viewing angle.

There currently aren't any notable deals on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro Magic Keyboard. For even more iPad deals, head to our full Best Deals guide for iPad. In that guide we track the best discounts online for iPad, iPad mini, iPad Air, and iPad Pro.

The 12.9-inch iPad Pro Magic Keyboard is actually $100 off at Amazon — the discount only appears at checkout.

When you first look at the listed price, it marks it as $329, but it also says ‘save $79.01 at checkout’ in small text. Don’t know why they did this — but hey, it’s there.

So if you’re looking to buy a 12.9-inch iPad Pro Magic Keyboard, go for Amazon. It’s just $249.99 there.

Haven’t the rumors said that the upcoming iPad Pro models will remain largely unchanged, in terms of the outside? Do we really think the current magic keyboard will become obsolete so quickly?
It seems more sales based. Having one that works for Air and Pro is a huge plus...if it's selling. It wasn't even a consideration at $300 but Amazon (Warehouse) has them for $175 though, not all that bad.

i dont see the promo on mine. It’s showing as 349.99 at the last for when you just hit place order

Isn't it odd that the peripheral is the luxury premium product in this scenario? Like @WiiDSmoker said above.. at the end of the day it's just a keyboard with a fancy hinge.
Girls buy luxury handbags that is not better than the 10 cents shopping bag you get at Walmart, in terms of utility.

I literally just got mine from Amazon today for my 11 inch Pro. For me I want a tablet and I want a laptop. But can’t afford both. This is game changing because of that. I just love how heavy and thick it is. It’s pure quality. The trackpads intuitive gestures rival a macs imo. It needs function keys though without a doubt. And FaceTiming on it today which I was hoping would take away from me having to hold my device didn’t work out. With the camera being on the side it was like my head was looking well.. way off to the side. Oh well. Anyways, The keyboard is 100% worth it for 200. 300? Not so much

I gravitate to my MacBook because it has a physical keyboard and mouse. I'd like to use the iPad for Teams, Webex and Zoom but without a keyboard for the chat it's not practical. The iPad also has cellular service, which makes it better for mobile and travel options. I hear what you are saying and agree that iPad OS isn't quite there yet but it's an 80% solution for me.

Mind me asking why you went with the 12.9 pro over the 11 pro? Especially while having a MacBook? It’s similar to what I’m looking to do, and still deciding between the two sizes. Thanks.

Just prefer the bigger display. I use my 12.9 a lot for media and when browsing on forums like this and Apollo I prefer using the keyboard. I was thinking once I got my M1 air to Get the 11 inch but the 12.9 I just love the bigger screen for media and using spilt screen it’s better on a bigger display

My M1 air is mainly used for at work
