Yep it’s gone. Had to search for it myself. Also, unsurprisingly, my TD order was canceled too. Congrats to all the lucky Best Buy price matchers.

Human error discounted like ten random apple products By half?🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

Sure. Someone may have been adjusting prices and depending how they do it it may be a simple batch job.

When you put the discount it comes in red with the exact amount right next the price… oh I forgot nobody monitors the site… yet everybody can change the price.

Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by human error.

Can confirm BB dropped TD from the price match guarantee:

I wonder if they’ll end up sending out email notifications about the cancellation, or just let everyone find out by themselves. :)

I wonder if any of the Best buy price matches that were being shipped went out or got cancelled
Probably. The only people who got those insane prices were ones who convinced local stores to price match with in-stock inventory.

It’s kind of wild, but Best Buy just sold the Yellow HomePod mini for $50 a couple of days ago. That was a 50% off discount on a current brand new product 😬 I missed out on the deal though.
A 50% discount on a $100 product is a known loss-leader. They get people to the store expecting them to buy something else while they are there, particularly those who “just missed out” on the last of the inventory. “Yes, we are sold out of the HomePods but we have a sale on all this other merchandise!” You don’t do that with $700 iPads or $1700 MacBooks.

They're shipping mine, it's in transit now. And there was no "convincing." I walked in and asked if they'd price match, they said they were aware of the TigerDirect prices and that they would.

If the answer was "No, we're not price matching that" no one is going to "convince" them otherwise. What are you going to do? Get it out of the security cage and ring it up yourself?

I logged on TigerDirect to see the status and got
Order Status:Cancelled - These items have been cancelled.
The charge on my Discover Card is still pending.

Nice. I just figured a price match of that magnitude required human intervention.

I think he should go back in a few days and see if that employee is still working there
Exactly. “We’re giving away 100 HomePods for $50” = $5000 loss. “We’re giving away 1000 iPads for $500 = $250,000 loss. 🤔

The person who actually rang me out, it wasn’t even his decision. I mentioned this earlier, but I’ll mention it again. I asked if they would price match an iPad Pro from TigerDirect, he said they were aware of the sale on iPad Airs, and we’re given clearance to honor the price match, but he’d have to call the GM about the Pros. He called him right in front of me, and got the OK. As I also said, I asked him how many people had inquired about this crazy sale, and he said since he clocked in, only one other person, and this was one hour before close. Looking back, I remember him saying on the phone, “only one other.” Who knows what he was talking about, but I’m guessing the GM asked how many iPads have we sold at a discount.

As I also mentioned, I didn’t walk out of the store with it. They had to ship it. Which I’m sure Best Buy has an additional system of checks and balances when a high ticket item is ordered through one of their retail stores at half off.

There weren’t 1000’s of iPads sold is my point. They sold a couple.

Best Buy didn’t put a sign outside that said WERE PRICE MATCHING THIS INSANE DEAL FROM A WEBSITE YOU NEVER HEARD OF.

I doubt nationwide Best Buy sold even close to 1000 of these iPads at the Tiger Direct price.

I wonder if the GM got fired then
