And the 400+ comment thread from the home page from the weekend has magically disappeared.
I did — i was able to get an M2 iPad Pro 12.9 for $555.99. Got tracking confirmation and it should be at my house sometime tomorrow.I dunno anything about that site. But no one is getting an M2 iPad for that price.
You priced matched an illegitimate price via a military site, you didn't buy one from Tiger Direct at the price. Which is what we're talking about here.I did — i was able to get an M2 iPad Pro 12.9 for $555.99. Got tracking confirmation and it should be at my house sometime tomorrow.
Salty much? You priced matched an illegitimate price via a military site, you didn't buy one from Tiger Direct at the price. Which is what we're talking about here.
So taxpayers funded your little discount. Yeah!![]()
Bragging about ripping off the AAFES/Military Exchange? You do you, man. Make us all proud!Salty much?
It wasn’t bragging it was just letting you know that some of us did get it for the price you claimed no one will get it. I was lucky enough that the exchanged priced matched and now I can give my son a great birthday gift. But you do you man.Bragging about ripping off the AAFES/Military Exchange? You do you, man. We are talking about Tiger Direct (THREAD TITLE). No one got it from them. I don't care if you stole one from Microcenter, ripped off the AAFES, or got one as part of a contra-swap. As long as your son is happy and you feel good.It wasn’t bragging it was just letting you know that some of us did it for the price you claimed no one will get it. I don't think he implied that allBut no one got one from Tiger Direct, so you shouldn't imply you did.
it's the price not the site that's the subjectI dunno anything about that site. But no one is getting an M2 iPad for that price.
he states he did get one for that priceI did — i was able to get an M2 iPad Pro 12.9 for $555.99
It's okay everybody, TigerDirect has put all of our money into 26-week Treasury Bills and will be returning the principal when the term has completed. They will be keeping the interest, of course.
I think they could net a half percent or so! 🤣I realize you're joking but apparently some here still don't realize hold on credit card != cash transfer. Also, with a 3.5% transaction fee I wouldn't' think the T bills would be a profitable play. Perhaps call options on the latest meme stock ...
I'm happy for sigomez and their son - and re-reading everything I can see that now you're right. The statement was, no one got an iPad for that price (and they did). lol.I don't think he implied that all

Context, folks. I responded (with quote) to a post specifically mentioning the Tiger Direct mess.I'm happy for sigomez and their son - and re-reading everything I can see that now you're right. The statement was, no one got an iPad for that price (and they did). lol.
I am sorry who charges 3.5% transaction fee the credit card issuer? There is no transaction fee for the T-bills.Also, with a 3.5% transaction fee
I think they meant credit card transaction fees.I am sorry who charges 3.5% transaction fee the credit card issuer? There is no transaction fee for the T-bills.
That pretty much sums it up. MacRumors wasn’t the only one. There was a similar story at Appleinsider, maybe just a rehash of the Macrumors post.Man, this thread has totally gone of the rails. Let's recap:
1. Macrumors—in an effort to just mindlessly post content without any editorial thought—posts this deal when there is enough red flags to warrant verifying it before posting it. Clearly ignoring the results. And the source.
2. Posting it creates a mindless consumption frenzy—which also ignores the same obvious red flag—while openly claiming they know it's not likely it will actually happen. Still unclear why, if you truly believe this you would still make a purchase. 🤔
3. People verify that this isn't legit—which is clearly step one—and people get pissed.
4. Left with administrative, operational and financial mess for all involved.
Right? Wrong? Missing something?
Amendment to your Step 2 and 3. Many people like me knew the red flags and placed an order anyway in the rare event that they'd actually ship them. Nothing mindless about doing that. Yeah, were some of us expressing optimism because we were hoping for a miracle? Yes. But who the f cares?Man, this thread has totally gone of the rails. Let's recap:

I likened it to buying a lottery ticket with a minuscule chance to win, but without paying for a ticket. If you don’t win, you’re only out a few minutes of time.Amendment to your Step 2 and 3. 100% this.I likened it to buying a lottery ticket with a minuscule chance to win, but without paying for a ticket. If you don’t win, you’re only out a few minutes of time.
The deal sites posted this just like every other deals hours before apple forums. That pretty much sums it up. MacRumors wasn’t the only one. There was a similar story at Appleinsider, maybe just a rehash of the Macrumors post.
