Amazon is currently discounting the latest 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar to a new all-time-low price. Specifically, this is the 2.3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 model with 8GB RAM and a 512GB SSD, now priced at $1,499.99, down from its current price of $1,999.00 on Apple's website. This is the lowest price ever seen for the model, and the discount is only available in Silver.

The latest MacBook Pros have Retina Displays with True Tone, a Touch Bar with Touch ID, and four Thunderbolt 3 ports. At 512GB, this is also the 13-inch MacBook Pro with the largest capacity SSD. Shoppers should note that Amazon says the notebook won't be in stock until May 3, 2019, but those who order will get updates about shipping via email.

13-Inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar Sale

[*]8GB RAM, 512GB SSD, Silver - $1,499.99, down from $1,999.00 ($500 off) Best Buy has a few MacBook Pro models on sale today as well. Amazon's price on the 13-inch 512GB model does beat Best Buy's, but otherwise there are many good discounts to be found in Best Buy's 4-day sale on the larger 15-inch configurations. You can also check out our full Deals Roundup for more information on recent sales.

Update: The sale appears to have ended and the 13-inch MacBook Pro is now priced at $1,749.99.

$500 off isn’t enough to offset the time, money and frustration you will spend fixing the trash keyboard

Considering the repairs are next day, covered under warranty and as simple as stopping by the Genius Bar, I'll take the $500, thanks.

This would be a great secondary machine at home if it had 16GB of RAM and a usable keyboard. I also wish they would put some sort of discrete GPU in the 13" MBP. Other thin laptop makers like Razer do this and Apple charges a ton for a Pro machine with an integrated GPU. I'm not even asking for something powerful, just anything would be a big improvement over an integrated GPU that sucks RAM away from the system.

I think my next portable Mac will be after they switch to ARM chips and hopefully fix the keyboard.

I probably would have bought this at the $1500. Why have a 1 hour sale or whatever it was?

This is the machine spec I want and I finally have the extra money to buy it.

I’m putting my money where my mouth is and holding firm with my old machine until they resolve real or perceived reliability issues.

Less than half an hour, actually. I'm also confused about that.

But unlike this one, which can also run Windows, those “better laptops” can’t also run macOS. So they’re not better.

Better specs, no doubt. But I need macOS, and I prefer being able to dual-boot into win10 also. So “better laptop” is in the eye of the beholder.

I’ve given it time. Even had a 2016 that was fine. Stop acting like it’s a sure thing when it definitely isn’t
