My iPhone 14 Pro, iPad and Mac doesn’t support this so I wonder how I can get it on my Vision Pro next week.

Why in the world is this not available also for Intel Macs?
Because intel is dead on the Mac. Maybe 2 more OS's before they are all EOL. No sense wasting effort to make it work. I say this while still working with an iMac Pro 2017. I do have an M2 Max MacBook Pro as well. But, I know it's not going to last much past another OS update. It's 7 years old already.

Well sure but I want to see how it runs on my Mac. I guess I could try to find a video with my exact model but one must admit a demo would be better.

Quick edit: Just checked out both those channels and neither has a review on the hardware I have yet. Tsai is just live-streaming on a presumably much higher end computer, and MrMacRight has only reviewed phone and iPad so far it seems.
If it helps. I can play RE IV on my iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPad Pro M2. I let it pick the settings to play at. Was fine for me. I just can't play for long on a touch screen. I got an Xbox controller to better enjoy the game, and again its seems fine on it. The M2 on an iPad is most likely a binned MacBook Air M2 so, maybe that can help you base your Mac off it.

On my M2 Max MacBook Pro. I can pretty much max the game out (not 100%). I got it to about 4k resolution and it seems to lock in at 60FPS. I can't seem to get it to pass 60 actually so the settings must prevent that. But, lower than the highest resolution. It can get to 120FPS at times. Seems to be well optimized for Apple Silicon. I would use the Metal optimization settings to keep the FPS high and consistent.

If anything, on an M3 Max this should be more than enough to run this game full tilt. As my M2 Max seems to be perfectly capable to play it. M1 might not be able to at full tilt at better than 1080p. But that is due to the GPU. M2 improved the GPU a lot. And M3 added Ray-tracing and a bit more oomph. Love to see what an Ultra M3 will do. Expecting to be at or near 4090 levels for gaming.

For some reason it doesn’t work on my MacBook Pro MAX on M2 chip with 96GB RAM, when I click “open” or from spotlight I only get an kicon on my dock panel and nothing else, apart from Game Center notification. Anyone else having this?

Does it have to be ran on M3? It doesn’t seem to work on my M2 with 96 ram for some reasons, it simply doesn’t want to launch, which is sad because I pre-ordered last year and even had a reminder twice because of the release date change :(
I would reinstall. Something maybe went wrong in the download.
Shouldn't need an M3 to run it. Any M chip "can", but lower the settings of course. M2 should be fine.

M1 required under macOS/iPadOS. iPhone 15 Pro required under iOS.

This is cool game, I will definitely try it out.

But just to prove a point, instead of buying this on PS4 store and paying 30%, I will use this great open market, and I will pirate this for Mac. Thank you for consumer choice EU! :)
Well congrats then. Game looks and performs worst on the Mac platform. The best looking and cheapest version is probably the PC one...

MrMacRight Mac review should be out soon. Which Mac do you have? I have a M2 Max and a base M3 so I can give you feedback

Weeeelllll that’s the thing. M1 Pro base 14” MBP. I don’t expect it to run terribly well. That’s why I’m curious just to see how it would run. I’m honestly not that interested in the game. I’m gonna wait and see on Mac gaming a bit until the M4 or so when I might possibly be able to justify an upgrade to one of the SoCs with ray tracing.

I always say this game is more like a hiking sim than a walking sim. You need to manually map out what you think will be the best route to get from point A to point B, your shoes will wear down faster on rough terrain, and you have to arrange your payload in a way that won't throw off your balance too much (there is an auto-arrange option which I used a lot, but you can also manually arrange every piece of cargo). There are combat and stealth mechanics, and the story is definitely like a Hollywood-quality post-apocalyptic sci-fi film - it kept me pushing through the especially long-winded backtracking missions.

It's very immersive and you'll actually feel like you're going on this journey with Sam (played by Norman Reedus). It's probably one of my favorite games ever. The soundtrack is also phenomenal. I hope Mac/iOS users enjoy it.

Performance wise: YouTube hands on videos seem to show it targeting 30fps on mobile devices (probably similar for MBA m1/m2). It was 30fps on PS4 as well originally, so I think that's pretty good. That's how I originally played through the whole game. Obviously, it feels much better at a higher framerate on PC/PS5, but it's a cinematic game and definitely playable at 30fps.

For a game on my iPad it look great. My last console was a PS3 and this game definitely performs better than it. I played for like 10 minutes, just to see it before getting in to work, but I’m sure I’m goin to enjoy playing it. This also show the possibilities for games on the iPad (and iPhone).

Anyone want to update the list of games they want to see on iOS/iPadOS?

Mac was always open unlike iOS. So EU did not intervene for Mac App Store.

Is that really true? When I look up some benchmarks on CPU monkey for example I see M3 Max beating the PS5 in every aspect, not all benchmarks are available on both platforms so only compare the ones with data available.
A modern processor/GPU that is supposed to be the HIGHEST END UNIT, unit SHOULD be able to beat a 4 year old APU basically that was not even close to a high end unit in those segments.

Pre-ordered it. This morning it says Loading on the App Store App and seems to be stuck at 681mb out of 76GB. Just sitting there for over an our now.

I quit the App Store. Rebooted the iMac. Opened App Store now shows Cloud icon. I clicked it and it started to download and finished! It's now installed!

Yeah, I got the same — but found a hint online that your OS needs to be signed into Game Center (in the settings app) before starting Death Stranding. Hopefully that’ll be fixed in a patch release soon.

Got it working quite well on a MBP M1 Max 32GB here!

Controls are a bit wack on the built-in trackpad, though:

- I couldn’t figure out how to balance (“press right and left mouse button at the same time”; good luck doing that on a trackpad xD), so I mapped keyboard keys “<“ and “>” for these actions

- I still can’t place waypoints on the map (“press scrollwheel” I guess?)

Thinking about getting a game controller for the game now!

Same issue on an M2 Max 32x38 2TB Studio. Can't get the game to load no matter how I try... No doubt an update will be coming along shortly. FIXED!
