I ordered with the student discount but I might cancel in order to benefit from a friends employee discount. I need to check if there is really that much cash saving and how long it would delay the order ...

The shipping window is still 2-3 weeks, so since you ordered 4 days ago, it shouldn't make a big difference. How much discount can you get from the students' and employees' options?

Around 9%

Edit. Remembered it wrong (not 6 but 9).

Actually with the student discount - online - I got a little more than 9% (saving 150 euros).
My friend told me the employee discount should be around 15% but he needs to check. Hey if I can shed a little bit off the price I won't say no ...

With those prices, every discount makes sense ;)

Not sure how it works in Poland but on the French site they do not ask for any proof (they might occasionaly check and ask you a copy of it). If you can, it's really worth it to go through edu store (worse case scenario they ask you to pay full price...)

I got 12% discount on my MBP 15" and 33% discount on apple care :)

I don't know either how it works through the Apple Store here, but buying through the retail, requires proof for discount.

Actually I deduct the VAT, so I am paying netto, due to the purchase for my business. In Poland it's 23% so pretty nice decrease.

Ordered mine yesterday (13" touch bar, 16gb ram, 512gb) ssd. Estimate was Dec. 28 to Jan 3rd but got it pushed up to Dec 22nd to 28th.

Not too quick, I'm still in for a 2-3 wait. Its a bummer because the max config is in stock in some stores. I just can't stomach the +300 they want for a marginally upgraded CPU.

At least you have some in stores. For now here in Poland, can get only base nTB models and 13" with TB - also base.
The 15" are available to order. That's a bummer!

You can make the order from edu-store and wait, but before your credit card is charged and the package is shipped, you have to proove that you are eligible to edu-discount and you have sent them a proof (e.g. a photo of your valid student/teacher card with your name on it).

I see that most of you upgraded to 2.7GHz. Is it really such a big difference from the 2.6GHz?

Ordered: 2nd December
Expected delivery date: 20th Dec - 30th Dec
Configuration: 13" MBP Touch Bar, Space Gray, 8 GB RAM, 512GB SSD
Status: Processing Items
Shipment: Originally 2-3 weeks

Ordered 14/11

13" TouchBar Macbook Pro 2.9GHz i5, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD.

Pick up in store on 29/12, with absolutely no movement on my order as of yet...

It sort of bums me out to see that people who ordered 2 weeks after me are getting their MBP within the same window, or maybe even earlier :(
