The new CTS = one of the best looking American cars ever. Love it. I think it deserved the Motor Trend Car Of The Year award it just recently won. I totally expected the new Accord to win and was pretty shocked to see the winner when my Motor Trend arrived. Hopefully GM will continue to improve the quality/design/performance of their vehicles. The new CTS and Malibu are both huge improvements.

I picked two that looked similar so it would go better together.
The new CTS is a huge improvement over the previous model. I didn't like the '03-'07 model at first; looks awkward from some angles. However, I instantly loved the '08. The modern version of the '59 Cadillac. The interior is absolutely gorgeous and can easily compete with the best the Germans has to offer. As for the Accord, eh, the exterior is beautiful but the interior has way too many buttons IMO. I like simpler interiors, like the '08 Camry has.
The new CTS pretty much makes the '08 STS obsolete unless you absolutely need the Northstar. However, that engine is going away in '09 to make way for GM's new Ultra V8. It's about time; the Northstar is a 15 year old engine and while it's had a great run, needs to be replaced with something more powerful to compete with BMW and Mercedes-Benz. I still like the STS though. However, i'm more a fan of the Seville ('98-'04).
Hell, the new Direct-Injection V6 makes almost as much HP as the Northstar.
The Northstar is a good engine, but it definitely needs more power.
I like the new Accord, but the design seems a bit awkward from some angles. It'll probably grow on me, though. The new CTS is definitely better looking, IMO.
I really like the new Camry SE. Never thought I'd see a Camry run 0-60 in 5.8 seconds.

I actually read that the Direct Injection engine has less horsepower than it can put out. It can supposedly put out 330hp!
As for the Accord, I think Honda went too far with the interior. They basically took a Civic and made it more luxurious. Ugh, I hate the Civic. The Accord interior, is not much better.
The new Camry, I love them. They are good looking cars; but the quality that made Toyota famous is not there. The interior looks cheaper than my Gen 4.5 2000 LE. Plus, the panel gaps look more Chevy-like than a $25k Toyota. However, the car is getting a refresh in '09 or '10. That should solve all the issues.

It really disappoints me, since that was one of the things that made them so appealing. Nice, relatively cheap, great quality and reliability. I don't want to see 'em go down the GM path. If they do, I'm afraid we'll see a Corolla with an interior comparable to a 2003 Cavalier. Cheap.
