And, it's gone. Despite hitting 28 days (I needed 26) today, after completing the exercise today the December Challenge badge disappeared. So that's 2 months in a row now. At least I got my 2018 badge.

I don't have an apple watch and never thought about buying one. I don't wear a watch of any type.

However, this thread ... do you all do your challenges? Are you getting fitter and healthier? That's pretty amazing when you think about it.

According to my scale, I've lost two pounds this month. I go out walking daily about 4 miles per day. Early this morning at midnight, I went out and walked five miles.

I've been hitting my 100,000 step goal every week this month except this week due to the extreme cold. I went out this morning at midnight because it warmed up to 24 degrees which was absolutely perfect walking weather and now the temp is in the teens again.

I actually got the December accomplishment which is the first time I ever got a monthly award since buying my first watch back in March.

I have no plans to quit walking every day, it's just now that winter is here, the weather is making it a bit more challenging and I'll likely have to miss a day or two when it gets below 20 degrees.

I think the thread is a bit of a misleading representation of what people do.

Read the thread on move goals and everyone has massively high daily targets.

The people that go to the gym 3+ times a week are not representative of the general population or Apple Watch users.

As an office based worker who doesn’t go to the gym, I go for some of the challenges. I am trying to be more active in general life, but I’m not suddenly going to be at the gym regularly.

Since the watch launched Apple have done a good job with seasonal and now monthly challenges which promote doing a bit more which is great, but don’t expect me to do a workout every day!

I got my December challenge completed on Christmas day. My challenge was to burn an average of 814 calories a day. Good thing I was super active at the beginning of the month. I didn't complete the perfect month challenge for 2017 which was reaching your move goal every day of a single month. My January Challenge is to close all 3 of my rings for 7 days in a row. It will be challenge but hoping I can do it.

I had my dec challenge of walking 191 miles this morning I hit 192 but did not get the award now I see it subtracted miles and miles kind of late in the month/year to get 18 miles in :(

My challenge was to exercise 1334 minutes in December. I exercised 30-72 minutes every day this month to reach this goal. I got to 1350 minutes this AM and waited for my badge all day. I checked again tonight, and it says I only exercised 1212 minutes. I even went through and added up my minutes for each day. I was gypped 138 minutes. I feel ripped off! I did find the awards motivating, but now I just feel cheated.

Happened to me as well. I had to get 2018 mins, was on track to finish it out tonight. Then boom lost minutes, plus didn't add my workouts from today, along with updating my phone ZEROED out my minutes for the month...BUT I did get the January 2018 challenge???

Another strange one - my target is now to get an average of 927 Calories for the month, but now shows that my average is 26,124 Calories (even though I've pretty much sat on the couch today). Without even trying to work out how I could burn that much - not even an Ironman would use that surely - my guess is it will stay that way and I'll still miss the challenge badge.

Has anyone found a way to fix this - I've lodged a couple of bug reports but no response so far.

My challenge for December was to “go 147.2 miles. I completed it around 10:50 pm on December 30. The badge colored in and was awarded about 2 hours later, right around 1 am on December 31.

Thank you Apple. You never fail me.

I set myself up to have 45 minutes left on a 2166 minute monthly challenge. It said 2126 before I went to bed last night, when I checked it tonight before my workout it was back down to 1950... It was a late workout so i couldn't get that much time in to complete the challenge. The number never ticked up anyway, so I think I got gipped on my december challenge :(

Double perfect months though, on a 71 day streak.

I have the same problem, I got yesterday evening several times the reminder for January 2018. But my finished December is just an empty space and also my movements in the first hours are not counting, even a test workout in the morning was not counting.

Didn't count it, at least I got a screenshot before it disappeared :(

I didn’t receive the badge for October’s additional challenge despite achieving the minimum required. November’s challenge was unrealistic so I didn’t attempt it. I successfully achieved December’s challenge but, yet again, I haven’t received it. I don’t think I’m going to bother doing any more challenges.

I got a 194 mi challenge for December. I bike alot and the first 3 bike workouts were recorded into my challenge. However, the last two were not. I lost the December challenge, instead... it awarded me the November challenge I missed. What gives?? o_O:confused:

Edit - Attaching pic of achievements

I achieved my October goal but didn’t get the badge. I did get the November badge instead though; it shows as having been awarded on 1 November so I assume it’s really my October badge. I didn’t achieve my November challenge.

So an interesting update. I logged the Challenge issues with Apple through Bug Reporter on my developer account. I received two notifications yesterday that the October and December 'bugs' were closed as 'duplicates', and later that morning both my October and December challenge badges have appeared.

My November 'bug' is still open, and I haven't yet been awarded the badge. However, November was a bit different because I noticed that certain activities passed from my Garmin to Apple Watch have actually made the 'Move' go backwards.

I wonder Apple can refresh the data to award you the missing badges or whether they just added them manually? Shame I don't have a developer account any more.

I thought I would chime in and add a "plus 1". I had not received my October challenge (never even saw the outlined badge). The December challenge was an outline through December but disappeared after getting the broken 2018 achievement (with no inscription on the back). The January outline badge also disappeared after completing the monthly challenge. I've also not got a February badge outline. So perhaps Apple thinks I'm fit enough and I can spend my days on the couch eating junk food.

Anyway, I've allowed myself to let go of chasing the badges and my only goals are to close all three rings each day.

Yeah, me too. I've given up chasing challenges and badges because the calculations are flawed and clearly Apple aren't interested in resolving them.

I've never been one to jump on the 'Apple is losing the plot' bandwagon, but with recent bug experiences across all platforms that go unresolved and the announcement that Server will no longer be a server, I'm certainly reviewing my investment in the ecosystem.
