I'm late to the party but I was going to say jet black in a black apple leather case. Gorgeous combination.

matte black for me.... i had jet black.... but sold it and bought matte black.... easier to maintain... JB is good if u intend to use it naked ..grip is better than matte... but im going crazy looking for scratches... haha.. ..

No offence to the jet black owners out there and after all this is purely subjective, but I think the JB looks cheap and it scratches easier. So that's 2-0 to the matt black finish.
It doesn't scratch easier
And it looks cheap in pictures, but when you hold and feel the device in person it doesn't

So those 2 points you just "won" I'll happily take them back

To be honest to all:

I do like both phones. So getting either or is fine. But since I'm getting a case for it regardless, it puts me to think the need for JB. Any thoughts? Almost time to go to the Specialist.

they're both nice. i would get whats available if you aren't picky.

How about neither of the above? I had the MB 7, and I found it boring. There have been black iphones since the dawn of iPhone. Matte or glossy--who cares? They're both black, and they're both boring.

Just hope to god you dont look at the finish in broad daylight. It will ruin your day if you got OCD

thats true, but there hasn't been a "black" phone since the iPhone 5. I had a black 3g, 3gs, and 4. after that i got the gold ones. its not that they're boring, its a little different from what was out in the past. but its still just a phone. What color did you end up getting?

Jet black is for people going caseless. If you're going to put it in a case and hide the entire back anyway, might as well get the color that won't scratch in a case for better resale value later on.

And on that note, I never use cases and love my jet black.

I got a jet black initially. Waited three weeks for it. The. Returned it after three days of ownership. Not because of the fingerprints. Not because of the micro abrasions. Because to me it just looked like an undefined black blob.

I got the matte black instead and I couldn't be happier.

Jet black personally, I use it naked and I accept the scratches on it. The grip is better than the matte space grey 6S I had beforehand.

I disagree.
What's wrong with using iPhones of other colours without a case?
What's wrong with using a jet black with a case?
There's nothing wrong with it. Get whatever you like.

But if you're just going to keep your phone in a non-clear case, jet black and matte black will look exactly the same. So why buy the color that scratches much easier?

You guys are all going back and forth over reasons that are logical to YOU. The thing is, everybody else isn't you. Get what you want. If you don't care about some blemishes on your JB and you gotta have it, get it. If you want Matte b/c you have paranoia and OCD then get it, if that's what will appease you.

I got the MB because after pondering it for quite some time I come to realize MB was going to WORK just as well as JB and WORK is most important thing for me. Realized it just wasn't worth waiting until next year for JB.

This makes no sense to me. I choose jet black because I like it the most, period.

I put it in a case to protect it from breaking in case I drop it.

I don't care much about minor scratches, certainly wouldn't buy a colour that I don't like just because it doesn't scratch as much.
