Even for Apple, $199 for a band is outrageous!
The only other watch manufacturer I know of that makes a Milanese loop / mesh bracelet out of titanium is Omega. Guess how much Omega charges for theirs? (Hint: the stainless steel version of Omega’s mesh bracelet is $800.)

Got an eBay knock off for $20 and it has several advantages over Apple.
For $20, I guarantee it’s made out of stainless steel and not titanium. You might not care about that, but some people do.

Apple band is very difficult to latch, need perfect alignment and it’s a struggle to lock.
This just isn’t true at all in my experience.

Apple band is very difficult to latch, need perfect alignment and it’s a struggle to lock. The links on Apples band are long so they don’t wrap around the attachment link smoothly due to their length and sometimes when removing the band it hangs up on the attachment link. The knock off links are short so they wrap around nicely, never hang up and latches easily.

That's Fine and Dandy but that's not nearly the same quality nor is it made out oftitanium. $200 for a quality titanium watch band is not nearly as outrageous price as you make it out to be. You can barely buy a Hermes orange box for $200

Poor fitting too, that gap is biiig.
Ok if you aren't that fussy & the cheap price is a good enough compromise for you, but not sure I'd trust something that cheap myself.

I think it’s under priced for a grade 5 ti band with locking class. It’s build quality is as good as an omega etc.

Got mine yesterday, as Christmas gift. It’s gorgeous and comfortable, but I had some difficulties in latching it single handed in the dark.

I just unwrapped one for christmas. Its a quality product for sure and A LOT lighter than it looks. I love that it matches (Natural) the Ultra 2 perfectly and it does not seem to yank my hair off as much as the old milanese.

Super high quality, in my opinion. Really a best buy.

It’ll take a little practice. I had a bit of trouble at first as well, but don’t even think about it now.

It could be interesting to understand if some of the people who had the problem used it too tight.

My guess would be be „very tight“ in combination with „worn while working out“. I‘ll never understand why some people won‘t change to a rubber or fabric strap for working out.

Well, I use it while running and I think it’s affordable. But if someone use it during lifting weights or climbing or similar activities where a good amount of strength will force the band…

Some people just don‘t like switching bands and so I get the attraction of a „GADA“ strap (which the new TiMil seems to adress by being elegant and sporty looking at the same time), but as you say there are work-outs and other intense activities that metal straps are just not ideal for.

I never understood why people work out in any of Apple's metal bracelets when the various sports bands are literally made for working out. The easiest thing about the Apple Watch is switching out bands. I tried working out in the titanium loop (just cardio) and it felt wrong. I always work out in a Nomad sports band or one of Apple's bands made for working out. There really is no need to work out in any Milanese loop.
