So still no iOs App where I can check to see if I already own the title when not at my computer? Ugh.

Ever heard of the internet? It allows you to bring up files when you are mobile, or away from your computer. It is totally amazing.
Delicious Library 3 allows you to "publish your library to the 'Web'".

Then you can use a 'bookmark' to view your collection anywhere.

The internet, you should use it.

I like this company better for this type of stuff. Now granted it doesn't do all in one, but for my CD's, movies and comic books, I love it.

http://www.collectorz.com/

And they have iOS apps. They cost extra but to me they were worth it.

Cool, thanks. You like what works for you. thanks great. It is worth nothing it would cost $125 to get the equivalent collectionz software for what Delicious Library offers for $25...and Delicious is one app, not a separate apps for each item type. Collectorz is kinda of a money grab, they are telling us that they can't store music titles in a DVD title storing program, ridiculous. That seems like they are being rude, to me, taking advantage of ignorance of people who don't know that they are selling the same basic software and calling each program DVD collection, music Collection, Game collection, etc.

Is it only oriented to US Market??

No Europe??

I've tried scanning some Blu-rays and PS3 Games, and no one was recognized

thank you

You may want to dial it back some. It allows export but I don't see much that would compare with simply having an app that shared the library. You can export to spreadsheets or XML as far as I can tell. I would like to be incorrect since desire a way to _conveniently_ sync and see my library on an ios device.

You all should try either the iCollect set of apps or search "Sort It Apps" on the App Store. Much better than Delicious Library by far!

Yeah, that one star rating that iCollect has really makes me eager to jump on that one.

I get the point, but the beauty of most iOS apps is that you generally don't have to log on to some website in order to access stuff on a smartphone. To have a phone scanner but no phone app does seem a bit underwhelming to me, too. In fact I just posted that very question on the DL website. I've used DL since the very beginning (It's got to be 8 or more years ago now) and it has been useful. I'm just not sure I'm seeing the value of this "upgrade" right at this point.

As long as this app uses Amazon, it will not have an iPhone companion app. Wil Shipley has written about Amazon's licensing limitation that forbids him offering such a mobile option. He did offer that option but was forced to remove it.

I just upgraded and there's a new feature which shows you the value of your library. It works for my books but nothing else. It should all the movies and the number of minutes of playing time I have but doesn't list a value. I allowed it access to my iTunes library and it catalogued everything in it but doesn't assign a value to it either.

Thoughts?

I'll have to download the trial and give this a try. If I can copy a simple HTML file to my Box account I could bring that into my iPhone and perhaps open it in Sarfari. That would avoid an always in Internet connection.

Another +1 me too post. I purchased DL2 about 4 or 5 months ago and am annoyed that the developers don't have any discount pricing for me.

What would stop them from selecting alternative sources of information for the mobile platform?

Just looking through the threads on the DM forum makes me think they are strong in excuses, weak on solutions at this point. DL v.2 was one of the best implemented versions of cataloging that I've used. I guess I just don't see the point of v.3 yet. Maybe I'll change my mind as more users give feedback.

Does anyone know if V3 supports the old iOS app? I use it on a regular basis (the created web page doesn't have the functionality)

I don't like the visual design of the top and bottom toolbars. I think they're trying to look like shelves - but shelves don't look like that.

The moulded corners on the top toolbar look a bit awkward. It looks like there's not enough vertical space on both the top or bottom toolbars (everything looks squished in there).

Using SceneKit is very cool. It's an API with really great potential. Unfortunately I'm a little skeptical about the results - it sounds just like those moulded corners - awkward.

perhaps most jarringly (at first), the items on your bookshelf move to face your cursor. It's as if they've come alive and decided to keep an eye on your every move.

Unfortunately I'll be skipping this update. The impression I get of the design is that it's tasteless, overly flamboyant, garish. I haven't used it, so that's just the impression I get from the screenshots and the Ars review.

I'm just adding my voice to those who are asking for a standalone iOS app, instead of just a handheld scanner.
Yes, I know there are issues with Amazon, but is there not another option to get this done? A method that doesn't use Amazon?
There are plenty of other (diabolically atrocious) iOS apps that allow scanning and database storage, so how are they doing it?

I bought this app a couple years ago. It doesn't really do anything.

Yeah I bought some Extreme Doritos! once and I fully expected to open the package and have the contents fly up into the air and into my open mouth where the chips would self-masticate.

Wow, was that a disappointment.

I'm not really sure what this is? Can someone summarize what this app does and is good for?

I have no idea what it does other then some type of scanning.
• Scan documents to PDFs
• Scan radio signals for TV, Music, or News?
• Scan visually using the camera to see in the fog like radar?

It looks like very few know what it does since there are so few postings, and none to describe what it does other than 'scan'. You would think the original article would provide a clue.

Discogs?

I don't see it mentioned anywhere, so I assume the ability to access the Discogs database of vinyl LPs is still absent. This was a highly requested feature, and one that was on their radar screen. Really sucks if it's still missing.

I'd like to know the answer to this as well, or experiences from other Europeans.
Without a trial available, I don't wanna pony up the cash for an app that won't play nicely with my titles... :(

I haven't read the DM forums.

How many sources would it take to replace features tied to Amazon? That current pricing value comes direct from them for instance.

Another interesting issue may be that to legally protect DM, a full purge of any data derived from Amazon would have to occur. Amazon considers the data their property. A conversion process would be needed in order to keep your current data. How long would such a Procedue take and what about records that don't match up?

Delicious Library 3 requires
OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.

Wait. What?
So for those of us still on 10.7 who *DON'T* want our books to follow our cursor can't use this app?
#sigh# :(

I took the plunge but I agree, the whole books-tilt-with-my-cursor-thing is really odd. I suppose if the image of the books included the spine it might be useful. If so, in theory you could choose to shelve your books spine-out like on a real shelf. Then, using your mouse it would make more sense that hovering over the book would animate it so that it would appear that you could take the book off the shelf an view the cover.
