3CST was right around when the 9/21 batch sold out. It's possible it might still move up a few days. In any case, I'm guessing that means supplies may be tight in stores.

I think I answered my own question. It looks like I have until it enters "preparing for shipment" and if I recall, this won't happen until its about 24 hours from shipping. If that happens before Friday, I'll be more than satisfied.

Read my last two posts. Thats what I did. Since Walmart will hold my phone for 10 days (if they have a 32) I can just cancel with Apple and wait an hour or two until my upgrade eligibility returns.

My Walmart only had one person on the wait list at noon today, might want to explore that option...

Last time when I ordered the 4S, I ordered from AT&T the following morning at like 9am Eastern time and was in the lucky group. If I recall though, It said it was going to be later at first then it changed. Oh well, either way I'm good with it.

ordered at 7am CST - black 16GB - Oct 5. when I ordered my iPhone 4, I ordered it at 7pm that day and actually was one of the few that got it the day before launch day. not so lucky this time around. Maybe we can see a change it out shipping update?

This is a stupid question, but how do you know if you're within the 21st delivery group? Is it when you click the order number in the email and it takes you to a page. Look at screenshot. Does this mean I am within the group? I know it says the delivery date there but with all the iPhone 5's selling out I was just wanting to know for certain.

Those estimates are crazy.

I suppose it's understandable considering all of the orders but I would definitely not be able to wait that out.

Yea I know. However, some people who ordered at 8am this morning are reporting with shipping estimates of 9/21. That's fair lol.

I really don't think it goes by time.

I was at a VZ store in downtown Chicago at 7:30 a.m. (Central) and I got a 9/21 shipment date.

Each supplier got their own allocation. The Verizon/Sprint and AT&T models are different this time around so Apple has to make some predictions about product mix.
 
My order was placed at 6:00am est on Apple.com, AT&T Black 32gb. Said 2 weeks when I placed the order, still says delivery Oct 5. Hoping for a miracle :D

But I will wait, not driving around and waiting in line.
