This is ridiculous. People complain yet have no idea how complicated this process actually is. You realize you're ordering something from ****ing China right?

Also, how would Apple accurately predict how many products are going to sell without having any history whatsoever to draw that information from? Oh you just want to bitch? Congratulations.

I completely agree. How do you come up with a number of how many to make on a new product like this? I mean the only number you could kind of use as an estimate is how many android watches have been sold in x amount of time. Now Apple grossly overestimated that number and for good reason. They sold more Apple Watches in 24hrs than Android watches in the last fiscal year. All personal emotions aside I think Apple has done an alright (not great)job of guessing popularity especially with so many options.

I'd imagine another wave of watches will be coming on those flights there were shipments of watches going to Alaska on Monday apple usually ships crazy amounts all at once. So since these planes are coming from Alaska to the distribution center, they should have watches but now I see what you are saying. Are there an increasing number of planes compared to last week.

Try here.

this launch is much smaller with estimates of first weekend orders being around 3 million, the 6/6 plus were pegged at around 10 million. For the phones though that doesn't even include that mass amount apple moves for carrier stores, third party retailers, and there own stores. For the watch we don't really know how many of that 3 million estimate are supposedly going to be delivered in the first wave, and there are no watches being shipped to stock up stores yet.

Not to mention how many of the launch day watches are already in there launch countries? A lot more of the initial wave could be coming from stock apple has been building up over the last few weeks/month.

All i'm getting at is that its probably harder to pinpoint planes full of watches in comparison with an iPhone launch when the normal shipping channels are literally consumed with Apple moving an insane amount of phones around the world.

:D

I hereby declare it as something diffrent :D:D:D:D

Motion denied only 'cause I wanna be closest to the distribution center. :p
Fairly certain there is one there, West sac

Yes, there is one in West Sacramento but I have no idea if theirs one in Elk Grove.

My packages from UPS normally come from the West Sacramento & Rocklin facility's.

Thought so. I think I've had packages come there only to be sent to Oakland and then SF.

So you think we will get our orders on launch day then

Possibly, I have a feeling the Watches might be in Australia already. If they are in Australia we will probably see movement sometime today or Thursday, and possibly get a shipped notice Thursday afternoon/night.

If we don't see them on launch day we might see them sometime next week.

OMG this thread is nuts. Sorry for the dumb question but hard to find the answer here atm. What step should earliest pre orderers be on right now? Do people already have tracking numbers, is it preparing for shipment, is it processing? Just wondering where the most advanced pre order is in the process.

people have tracking numbers from UPS my choice and reference searches BUT they are merely printed labels and waiting to be delivered ON the 24th.

I think certain individuals have found their tracking information. But I don't think official tracking numbers by Apple email have been sent out yet. But watches have been shipped for sure.

Just checked my order page and FINALLY "preparing for shipping" (no email yet from Apple!). 38 SS with black sports band, email confirmation of 3:03 am. Shipping to Rochester, NY.

Hi Coops. Also Rochester NY, 42mm SS Classic Buckle, just got charged about 5 hours ago (5PM EST) and status changed to "preparing for shipment". My extra charger has already been shipped and will be delivered Thursday.

Order confirmation was 4/10 3:08AM.

SS Milanese , Japan , order 4:02
Nothing change .

Why the shipping notification come just few hour period not all day ?

You're right. But regardless there are watches that are moving from Alaska to Tennessee and Apple is promising a delivery between 4/24-5/8 so I'm sure they will be steady flow of watches coming in for the east coast.

yea, I'm just trying to make time move faster :)

That's a distribution center? I thought it was returns, training and repair.

If you google it, some stuff on it comes up identifying it as a Distribution Center. Also, some filings with the SEC from a few years says it handles warehousing, distribution, and support call center. So, I just wasn't sure what the recent intel was on it.
