I was told that only the name OR address needs to match.

Well, then maybe my CC is crazy strict... because they shut down a guy trying to pick up his partner's iPhone plus even though the delivery address was on the ID and his name wasn't. They told him both had to be on there. The guy pitched a giant fit and held up the line for 15 minutes and stomped out with nothing. It was pretty memorable.

I'm paranoid enough not to try it with my watch tomorrow. :D

So I should be getting my watch tomorrow. I want it left at my door since I likely won't be home it when it arrives. The Apple website says a signature is required, but on the UPS website I authorized a "Shipment Release" and told it to be left at my Front Door.

Is this enough or do I need to print something out, sign it, and leave it at my door?

42mm SS BSB
Ordered 3:03am EDT
Still Processing, no CC charge
EOD @ 11:03pm
(Geneseo, NY)

Now I understand the 4/27-5/8 date range. The BSB orders aren't going to make the launch day, but Apple is still going to be able to say (proudly) that 90%+ pre-orders were shipped to arrive in customers hands on the first day of their launch window - didn't they do a great job?

Yes, except for those of us who chose the most popular SKUs.

Not to be an a--hole or anything, but my 42mm SS bsb is supposed to be here tomorrow

For my iPhone, I wrote out a note with my signature and the date, just to be safe.

I guarantee we will.

The next big thing will be the tracking #. Its entirely possible that these UPS packages that are landing in Alaska are going right to Tennessee and won't be scanned until overnight tonight.

Many times working Los Angeles I've overnighted a package across town only to find it actually fly to Tennessee and back to LA. That is all possible within 12 hours.

I will be proven right.

So you're saying that this new batch could be landing in AK today in 3 hours, fly to TN tonight, fly back to Los Angeles early morning Friday and be on our doorsteps by tomorrow evening?!

On the Apple site there should be info about pre-signing for delivery. You print the page and put it on the door I believe.

Yes!

That's exactly right. Remember. Apple isn't relying on normal UPS operations. these are all chartered special flights.

did you get the EOD?

Yes I did!

no way the iphone 6 is just that the nth time we've had to do that for a phone. this watch demon has been jus that, a demon of its own. And it is winning, i am beaten, bruised, battered, heart on the floor, getting stomped on by steve jobs ghost.

further proof this was not an "EOD" and that NOT GETTING IT...like myself...recieved nothing......is the real EOD.

I think you should be able to pre-sign on Apple's website when the order status changes to "shipped" so that you can print the shipment release authorization and leave it at your door. Not sure if it's the same as UPS' release authorization.
