I'm surprised nobody is talking about this;

According to people whom have their watch in their support file with a serial number which gives them the manufacturing date.

The earliest manufacturing date I've seen so far is week 13. Which is early April I guess?

That means these things are literally "hot off the press".

I'm surprised that they didn't start manufacturing until then. It's no wonder a lot of people are still in processing!

How do you get the manufacturing date from the serial number?

My white sport 38mm claims production week 15. Ordered at launch, on truck today.

Happy to say I now have my Apple Watch Sport Space Gray 42mm!!!! Just want to say thank you to everyone on this forum who waited with us all, who answered questions and who just shared in this excitement. To those who are still waiting, my thoughts are with you. But you don't have very much longer now. And it is definitely worth the wait. Thanks everyone!

I wonder if right about now, someone at :apple: is wondering whether it was a mistake to start with so many different order options. If there were only 6 different models/sizes/bands instead of 38, I would think they would have had an easier time shipping everything out for launch day. Just sayin'

I am wondering if they are questioning whether they should have just boxed the watch face and bands separately then created orders from those boxes. It would have offered more flexibility.

So if your last 2 numbers in the serial # end in 12 then it was produced in week 12?

There are no numbers in my serial number which correlate to the production week, so I don't think that's how it's done.

EDIT: Clearly I was not phrasing this clearly. Here's what I was trying to say: You cannot tell your production week by the numbers in your serial number.

Yes, I am aware, thank you. I had this discussion with Apple based on feedback from other forum members. I saw multiple people that ordered at say... 3:05, with a confirm email at 3:10, but they said Apple reported it hitting their servers at 6:30 or something to that nature.

Mine hit Apple's servers at 4:21 according to the information I received. I have taken that into consideration based on my previous comments. Several people that did have access to this information, whether they called and asked, chatted with Apple, etc., and posted it, hit their servers after me but received their watch today.

Don't misconstrue my post. I was very specific in stating that I am fine with not receiving my watch today and would even be ok with the 5/8 date which I have no doubt Apple will hit. I was simply stating that based on the information I have and the information others have provided, it was not first come, first serve on every account.

Wasn't it discovered yesterday that the reps were not properly reading the 24hr time used by apples system?

There system says it received your order at 00:04:21 or 12:04.21 am PST
Not 4:21am.

That's not how it works. Use the online tool posted on the previous page

Ok I just called Apple CS to lividly complain.

Basically Apple CS says my watch is sitting in a pallet in Rialto,CA waiting to be unloaded and processed. She believes that it will be delivered tomorrow (she confirmed UPS Saturday delivery).

I could not believe that she said that. I asked her, "So they didn’t any have time in two weeks to maybe, oh I don’t know, unload the pallet?" She laughed and said "I guess not."

Interesting. That's not something I had heard of and not something I thought about.

In the end, it doesn't change anything as when I look back at some of the examples I was comparing it to that would still mean other orders reached Apple after mine but were fulfilled before mine.

Those two zeros are pretty important.

Be sure to post back to us when she is proved correct. (Haha I doubt it) should have asked her for a serial number.

What number did you call? Thanks

There's still a chance, don't give up.
It's 2:21 am PST here, fingers crossed.
Ive Cancelled my order... I dont have time for ********. There isn't any chance in hell that I will continue to await a product that I know damn well was ordered in plenty of time to be included in the first wave... To be sent an email full of lies instead of clarity or blunt honesty is ********....
4 of my neighbors that ordered almost an hour after me are receiving watches today after initially being told the May time frame.. the kicker is 2 of the 4 are 42mm Stainless Steel Black Sports bands...
Its not the fact that they received them, its the fact that people within the first 5 minutes should automatically be in the first wave launch release VERSUS people that come in 30 minutes and later and have later shipping times to be bumped to the front of the line and receive on launch day...

This was a ****ed up way of launching a product. my first experience and the worst and last experience for me...
For those holding steadfast, good luck to you all.. I will still pop in from time to time on this thread, just to see how far people with the 4/24-5/8 have gotten with their orders

Have you been charged yet or are you still stuck in processing?

Mine just arrived, so I can finally stop obsessively stalking this forum. Thanks for the information, laughs and all that over the past week.

I know some of you aren't going to get yours today despite being in the first wave of orders, but I hope most of you do get pleasantly surprised by a delivery if not today then very soon!

Click the link below ... the serial number is some kind of formula and you can't tell anything by just looking at it. I put only the serial number of mine in ... didn't say it was a watch or anything and got a detailed result of everything about the watch!!

This is the link and the results I got:

Ordering in the middle of the night does not make you entitled to receive a launch day watch. It entitles you to a watch. When it's available.

Paying $350-1100 for a watch does not make you entitled to a launch day watch. It entitles you to a watch. The one you paid for. Nothing else.
