Apple just asked me through email how my experience was!!!! So I told them 🙂
After getting up to order my watch and completing it at 3:03am eastern time. And it still not shipping as of right now. And apples inability to give their customers actual accurate information about what is going on with their order is frustrating and unacceptable. I know you gave a 2 week window of delivery. But I purchased my watch 2 weeks ago in the middle of the night after telling you in my favorites exactly the one I was going to buy. As far as I'm concerned my order should have been filled without incident or delay. We all have been preparing for this purchase since September (Apple and their customers). I'm not mad as much as telling you how my heart feels. As this is a personal and emotional purchase as you have billed it in your Keynotes. I want to see it coming from a company that actually cares about every individual customer, not just "Things are Great for Apple". And right now that's not who you are. I own A LOT of your products. And I have converted may friends and family to Apple. I am a machinist and understand manufacturing better then most but whatever went wrong with this launch would have better been explained to your waiting customers then the silent treatment. And the email you coldly sent in the middle of the night to waiting customers had no content to help us understand your dilemma of filling orders and therefore no sympathy could be found for such a cold and impersonal mailing. We are not mushrooms. We can handle the truth and we want to appreciate your hard work on such a amazing product. But you aren't giving us anything to work with.

I have been an Apple customer for 35 years. I am also a Apple developer. That said I am an active blogger and the goto Apple guy in my circles of friends and family.
I am not complaining about not receiving my preorder on launch day. I ordered at 0:05 PST but so far have seen no progress. What I am concerned about is that clearly the shipped in the order received did not happen.
Forums across the web are full with posted screenshots showing ordres being skipped. I personally know of cases where the exact same watch was delivered today by people who did not order it in the first wave.
Unfortunately the Apple Chat Customer service is not helpful making meaningless statements with zero merit, not helping the cause.
I know here is little you can do now, but just for the record - this was a bad launch.
Expectations where higher than usual, the hype was as it peak and a lot of loyal followers where badly disappointed.
Maybe the new launch model is not so great after all?
In any way, congratulations on an other successful product launch.
