Would be nice if they finished shipping out all the 4/24-5/8's, before moving on to the 5/13-5/27's.... but I guess they view things differently.

Entirely depends on part availability. Why make people wait for a particular SKU if it's available?

They're not going to start opening up completed boxes and swapping out parts - that's excessively labour intensive and would also mess up the configuration in their system for that serial number (which is what your warranty and any purchased applecare would be based on).

As long as they deliver within the window they gave you, you have nothing to complain about.

I realize I am still within the overall time window, but when people who've ordered THE SAME EXACT CONFIGURATION, later than myself, and received way before me, it can tend to get on one's nerves. In the spirit of first come/first served.

I understand your feelings. Been there. Can't tell you the rhyme or reason either.

Apple CS claimed today (via 4:00 am chat) that this doesn't happen— not in the same country for the same watch.

I suggested that they've perhaps been misled to believe that.

Seems to possibly be by area/region too. Speculation follows:

Like one day they do xx:04 and xx:05's from the Northeast US as that is all handled by the same UPS Hub. Then the next day they do another area of the Country that is serviced by a different UPS Hub.

If you are in the 4th area that they do and you have a xx:04, then you are pissed by the time they get to you because you just saw a ton of xx:05's get theirs before you

And if they have 75% of a Pallet of Milanese and 25% Space Gray and the Milanese are on xx:06 for the Northeast, you may see xx:06's getting Space Gray in NY, while you are in CA with an xx:04 and no Watch.

Sounds like a logistical nightmare and no matter what they do, there will a large group of unhappy people.

First time poster here, but I've been following from the beginning. I've been patiently waiting for my watches to ship (SS MIL and Sport / Pink Band) and I woke this morning (6 AM) to see that one of them had moved to "Preparing for Shipment" (my wife's pink one, of course)!

I got to work at 9 only to discover that the status had changed back to "Processing"... WTF?!?!? Has this happened to anyone else?

A few days ago I saw others say that happened to them. A couple hours later it went back to PFS so I hope you'll be fine. Fingers crossed for you!

I think its not entirely about first come/first serve. It's more complicated due to shipping these watches all around the world. I tend to think it's more of a geographical aspect. I don't bother to look at the window... I look in the area in which people received their order. Because some group in the 5/13-5/27 is getting their order fulfilled before 4/24-5/8.

YEAH!!! My watch finally arrived today. It is sooooooo worth the wait. This will be my last post on this forum. I just want to thank everyone who shared over the past few weeks... It may sound silly but being able to come here and "share" in the anxiety really did make the wait bearable :) for those who have not yet received their watch... Hang in there. Apple really is working hard to get the watches to everyone as quickly as possible. Trust me, I know... Can't say where I work but let's just say it's a company that sounds like a fruit ;)

I really would like to shower... But I don't want to miss UPS! Because they "should" ask for a signature.... And I say should because they should have on my $1,300 laptop but didn't! Just left it on the porch!

Got mine. Been wearing it for an hour....very nice...very very nice. Now that I have it on. I should have gotten the leather band vs the BCB, but that's ok :) Can always order a new band :)

Well my brothers and sisters thank you for everything. After getting in to it with ups and finally getting off of work at 6. I finally have it and it is sexy! Confirmed delivery 2:00pm est

For all those who haven't gotten it yet. It's way worth it

Just wanted to add my voice to the other happy owners who received their Watch today: it is SO worth the wait.

Any of you still waiting, *hang in there*, once it arrives this will all rapidly become a distant memory and you'll be enjoying your watch.

Thursday, April 30, 11pm EST update - or lack thereof.

My 4/10 xx:04:50 SS 42mm Milanese, to South Florida.

Zero progress. No charge, and still in processing hell.

5 business days left to ship before my 5/8 delivery cannot be met.

People in the :05, :06, :07, :08, and :09 groups already received (locals with the exact same configuration too). So I'm pretty skeptical mine will arrive in the allotted window. I think somehow my order fell through the cracks.

Got my 42mm SS BCB this afternoon. Absolutely love it. It looks so nice on the wrist and seems so light. I hardly know I am wearing it. I am still trying to learn how to do a lot of the things you can do with it but over time, they are getting easier to learn. Well worth the wait.

Still waiting on my wife's 38 Sport WSB. But then again, I did order t on 4/24 10pm. Lol.

Love my 42 SS BSB.

Been keeping an eye on battery life. The very first day I got it I did all of my tinkering and playing with it to get it out of my system. Then charged it fully overnight and started observing the battery performance.

After 16 hours of normal use I still have 53% battery life left.

But it wasn't this good in the beginning. It took a few charge and discharge cycles to really open the battery up.

The first full day I used it, after 12 hours the battery was at 42%, the. The next day I saw the battery around 52% after only 13 hours, and today I'm at 53% after 16 full hours.

Not bad at all. More than respectable battery life if you ask me.

And before anyone asks, this what I did

I replied to 18 text messages with responses from the preset list.

I dictated another 23 messages.

I asked Siri to set 3 events.

Checked the time around 15 times.

Checked the weather twice

Rear 7 emails

Dictated 2 long and 4 short emails.

Asked Siri to launch 4 apps

Used the remote app for about 5 minutes to control my Apple TV.

And showed 3 coworkers how the watch works and what it can do.
