I've ordered some from Crucial, as have many on here it seems.

They have a memory finder which makes it easy to find the correct RAM.

Any compatible RAM should work.

Yeah crucial is great, I ordered the 16gb kit, just finished installing it earlier - took two seconds and now im running 32 GB of ram

Order Date December 13

Shipped on 1.9.13
Expected Delivery to Ohio on 1.14.13, Monday.

How many of you got your order earlier than the expected delivery date?
I need to decide whether or not to complete the signature to leave while I'm at work. I would hate to miss it if it gets here Friday and then have to wait until Monday. Would be great to have the weekend to get it set up and play with my "new toy" :):apple:

It looks like they are preparing or shipping most orders from December 11th up until around the 21st.

It also appears that a charge on the CC is the clue to next day prep, following day ship, and delivery in 1-3 days.

One Possible Warning........

I had a mysterious $290.37 "Authorization" on a Debit card from Apple. After spending about 45 minutes with my bank, and then Apple (including 3 transfers....uggghh), explaining that I had not purchased anything from Apple; explaining that I did not charge anything at 3:07am; explaining that I had been at work all that day and hadn't even been online; explaining that my Apple account didn't show any purchases etc etc etc.......

Finally we were able to deduce that the $290.37 was the additional, after taxes, the order was over the credit limit on the BarclayCard. i didn't figure in taxes when I asked for the amount of the computer in my application.

Sooooo.....Apple decided, without consulting me or notifying me or e-mailing me to charge the overage to the debit card I use to purchase from Apple TV and iTunes. I let them know that was NOT ok, and that charging things to my Debit Card without my permission or even letting me know, much less asking me, was not a good business practice. I was glad to find out what the debit was to my checking account and that it was not fraud, but had no clue as to what the charge was without the investigation.

Does "Preparing for shipping" means the iMac is currently in the production line, or it has just went out from the production line,,

better they had trashed your entire order due to lack of funds then:eek:

Uh, nope.......

better they had trashed your entire order due to lack of funds then:eek:

I'm glad they didn't trash my order, and i have plenty of funds in my checking account. I just think they need to let people know before putting things on "whatever" card you might have used previously and kept in your Apple account without letting you know. That might result in an overdraft on a debit card or an overlimit charge on a CC if someone was at their limit or if the checking account was low on funds. Much better to let you know so you can decide the source for the "overage".

So can i just wait for them to get them in stock more frequently, then return it? I think this thing has a one year warranty, and this screen flaw would fit in that right?
I wanna use it until I can just go in and get a new one off the shelf.

You can wait but than they will replace just the screen if you do it now u will get a new comp replacement or refund

Ohh well :(... at least I am not the only one in the 'waiting club' and we can share this 'un-pleasant' experience together. Keep me updated on your deliveries :)

Anyone know... can I just use any 8GB RAM module? Can you mix/match RAM brands? Or are some specially designed to work with iMac?

I ordered mine yesterday from Crucial, which has a nifty RAM finder on the home page. If you go to RetailMeNot.com and click through using their link, you get free shipping and an extra 5% off. I received an e-mail a couple hours ago stating that my memory has shipped, so they're pretty fast.

3TB Fusion i5

RIGHT HERE!! although i have a different configuration (details are in my sig). to be fair though i did order on the 26th and i think the orders that are shipping after me have less complex configurations.

ok, so quick update. i just got off the phone with apple trying to see if i could at least get an idea of when my order would december 26 order would ship (i must admit i'm as anxious as you all to get my new machine, but i'm also without a computer and in afghanistan...that equals bordem of massive proportions during my "down" time). anyway, she saw my date and said, "looking at your order and the way they have been shipping them out, i would say it's about a week, two weeks at the absolute latetest". hopefully that means the orders before me (especially those 30nov and early early december orders will be fulfilled by then as well). i already ordered express shipping, but she was kind enough to give it to me for free so when they process my card it will be complimentary 2-3 day shipping. i explained to her my situation (came here with a mid2010 mbp that crashed bought a mid2012 that was defective out of the box with a spinning rainbow wheel and that crashed within a month and i was computerless) she told me she could not treat the imac as a replacement machine and have it produced sooner (although i know a friend that had it done, but i wasn't upset about it). however, she did offer me a coupon good for any apple purchase.

the take away is that for those of you that ordered before me i would recommend giving them a call as they will likely give you free shipping (possibly more)...
