Not wishing to depress y'all any further but how's this?...

First ordered (BTO iMac) 30 November 2012 (that's 42 days ago)

Payment didn't initially go through from my bank but eventually went out of my account on 5 December 2012 (that's 36 days ago)

Apple only managed to detect and confirm that my money was in their account on the 12 December 2012 (29 days ago)

Current order tracking status.. you guessed... Dispatched: January

i.e. nothing's happening!

I continue to lay claim to having the oldest unfulfilled order of anyone on this forum! This is the Grandaddy of them all.

And FWIW repeated calls/emails to my friends(?!) at Apple has resulted in No information, No compensatory offers and NO, well, no iMac!

It'll happen soon, I'm sure, but the waiting is getting veeery boring!

Are you sure it was a 3tb fusion in the store. I was told only 1tb would be in the stores?

as far as apple are concerned your order date is the 12 dec 2012 four days after mine and mine just shipped.

I do wish that people would understand that wire transfer is not the best way to pay CC is instant and that will give you the quickest order to ship time

Preparing for Shipment

27-inch iMac
3.4GHz i7
32GB DDR3
768GB Flash Storage
GTX 680MX

Ordered: 11th December 2012
Preparing: 10th January 2013

hey just a quick question my machine was marked as shipped yesterday around 4pm ET however i went to check the tracking number it says this

Date/Time Activity Location
- 1/09/2013 - Wednesday
5:50 pm
Left FedEx origin facility
SHANGHAI CN
5:49 pm
Picked up
SHANGHAI CN
Package received after FedEx cutoff
4:03 am
Shipment information sent to FedEx

It says it was received after fedex cutoff nothing changed over night. does anyone here knows when my package will be on track again? or does anyone know what times fedex loads up and send their planes off.. ???

Mine was stuck in Anchorage for about 24hrs. I called Fedex and they told me that it cleared customs once it landed in the US, but missed the last flight of the evening from Anchorage to Memphis (around 5:30pm ish, local time). I didn't get an update on the website until the next day, almost 24hrs later. Not sure what the cutoff times are in Shanghai.

So almost useless data, lol

Hehe, depending on the perspective, I found that time very rewarding, the build up until we see the machines start moving from processing to Shipped and to Received, was amazing, data it's only data, good or bad, what you believe is what really makes the difference and who you are.

'd have understood if anyone had told me ahead of placing the order! It was Apple who advised the transfer so I'd get a tax (VAT) invoice... I dumbly complied!

I placed my order the morning of Nov,30 and it is still in processing. At the time the expected shipping was 2-3 weeks. Since I was going to be out of town until the 21st of December and didn't want it delivered when I was not there, I ordered from a local reseller and paid in full at that time. I saw them place the order with their computer.

I have had the reseller call Apple and all they can tell me is that it is still processing. No reason why or expected time. They claim all their orders are expedited. Since I am switching from PC to Mac, I ordered a macbook air BTO and used the Apple web site. Ordered Dec 28, received Nov 4!

Is this delay typical when using a reseller? Should I cancel the order and reorder from Apple website? This is very frustrating but I am using the mba to learn mountain lion so all the time is not a waste .

Yes, I would have cancelled weeks ago.

I tried adding my order to the spreadsheet twice and nothing happened ,when will they start shipping orders from the 24th of December ? Am I still gonna be waiting another few weeks just for it to ship ?...

Looks like folks ordering stock configurations after Christmas are seeing shipments less than 2 weeks after ordering. The rest of us with custom (BTO) configs are still in 3-4 week land when paying by credit card and ordering directly from Apple. Those paying by wire transfer are further delayed by however long it took for the funds to reach Apple's coffers.

This week is shaping up to roughly match last week's output (based on the spreadsheet), so it appears production is ramped up about as fast as it's going to this month.

The past two Mondays have daily substantially higher output, which probably reflects weekend output along with Monday production. Last Friday was also high, which may reflect some holiday production.

Citing industry sources, hit-or-miss DigiTimes reported on Thursday that mass production issues can be pinned on iMac panel supplier LG Display. The problem apparently stems from full lamination issues in producing the panels.

Apple and LG are only able to produce about 100,000 units a month, according to the report. The issues do not apparently apply to the 21.5-inch iMac, which has reached monthly shipments of between 300,000 and 400,000.

AppleInsider previously noted on Monday that Apple's iMacs remain in short supply more than a month after the new all-in-one desktop launched. In fact, Apple's reseller channel remains completely out of stock of the 21.5-inch model.

Apple's online store advertises that the 27-inch iMac will ship to new orders in three to four weeks. The wait isn't quite as long with the 21.5-inch model, which ships in 7 to 10 business days.

When my toast popped up out of the toaster this morning, I swear I saw a 3, so I think that's a sign it'll be 3 more weeks for my iMac.

Ordered on the 12th, shipped from China yesterday, and my iMac made it to WI early this morning. Unfortunately I wasn't home, so I am going to the FedEx office to pick it up in a few hours. Perfect timing as my computer is repeatedly shutting down and tap dancing on my last nerve today.

Fingers crossed for a happy, healthy and perfect device!

Just in case anyone from Apple is reading this...

Guys, if you have production problems that are likely to cause delays why don't you just tell people that you've got a problem? And maybe post up a webpage somewhere with occasional updates so we know how things are progressing? That way, a whole bunch of people don't get half so frustrated and, what's more, they'll blame your display manufacturer and not you! It's a win-win!

But instead, you release zero information, treating us like the proverbial bunch of mushrooms - you keep us in the dark and cover us in crap and hope we'll be grateful for the experience!

Just because your product is so good doesn't mean you can afford appalling customer service. That's how it feels to folks who've paid up-front against promises they no longer trust.

Isn't this Customer Relations 101?!
