Huntn. This was what I was referring to. did not realize it was a game in Alpha.

I'm pushing forward on the VR and now looking at windows machines to get started. I have abandoned any thoughts of buying 2018 mini, or even popping for the big MP,7. Here is what I'm looking at now. I also see these build ups ready to go, locally, on Craigs list .

Comments appreciated. :)

I like this article. Have you ever built a PC? Technically it’s not that hard, but the caution is if you put it all together and it does not work, you maybe are stuck until you take it to the shop. I built my first PC in 2013. At that time I had experience with replacing/adding memory, power supplies, and graphic cards.

When I built, I used this video series as a reference and it is quite good even from 2011:

I’ve got my experience posted in a couple of places so I’ll look for them to provide links.

I’ve had one disaster doing my own work and that is when I was replacing a Geforce 970 graphic card with a Geforce 2070. I could not get the old card out, because one of the latches broke off. Do not force it! I ended up forcing it and ripping off the graphic card slot cover off with disconnected all of the little wires that make the connection to the card. So the motherboard was ruined and I had to replace that, get new memory, and a new processor, about a $600 mistake.

Macrumors used to support guides, and I had one established here, but it is gone with one of the site updates. Here is a link: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/pc-build-quick-and-dirty-guide-established.1657329/

Personally if I was going to do a lot of PC building talk for gaming, I’d put it in the Gaming Forum.

No, but many years of building ham radio gear, and keeping our 1940s airplanes up there, did give me some skills. But that was a while ago.

Although I did open up all our 09 imacs and minis, I think I'm just a buyer now. LOL.
(But looking hard at that HP820.)

That's a fine post ,and it will take me some time to digest it, meanwhile, I'll learn to do quotes. and other tricks with this site. :)

I saw the Time To Build thread title. :)
It’s been several years since I’ve looked at them, but when I built my PC in 2013, Digital Storm had very competitive pricing.
