Im hoping for 4 inches or my next phone will be Android or Windows phone.
Enjoy your Android or Windows phone. :D

Steve isn't going to supersize the iPhone. That's completely against his aesthetic. He likes small, simple, elegant, and thin.

Apple has had multiple opportunities to increase the size of the handset, yet every time, it has remained the same size or slimmed down. We know the handset must pass the muster of one main person.

I'm certain that there are multiple prototype handsets with larger screens in a top-secret lab in Cupertino, however one guy green lights the final design and Steve isn't going to let a porker wear the Apple logo. Steve is perfectly fine letting fatties wear someone else's logo.

Way to kill existing iPhone 4 sales, I'm sure Apple is just thrilled with this little publicity stunt from one of their supposed partners. :)

Yes Sir. Deutsche Telekom is a little pissed over the Feds sticking their nose in the at&t purchase of their US Operations.

Doubt Apple will be filing any new Lawsuits in Germany for a while. :)

20,000,000 iPhones sold last quarter, that's 200,000 people a day who buy this "old, outdated" mobile phone.

Notice I didn't say "piece of hardware". :)

Don't mean to be rude but how "Tech Savy" are those 20,000,000 customers? Its unlikely any of them read Macrumors/Gizmodo/Engadget/BGR etc and just bought the IP4 last quarter because of either TV ads / pushy salesmen or because their friends have had them. I know a few people who bought the 3GS on 2 year contracts just a few weeks before the iPhone 4 was launched and even after the Giz leak.

Some people just don't understand how this new generation thing works. They think an iPhone is an iPhone and don't understand about hardware cycles etc. Hell in the UK we still have newspaper adverts for discounted 3GS's on 2 year contracts!!!

Its likely someone somewhere in Britain today just signed up for a 3GS on a 24 month contract. So in September 2013 they will still be using a 4-year-old-tech mobile phone and think their hip'n'happening even tho we will likely be on iPhone 6 by then! :D

Why would one think the "Telekom" is T-Mobile UK? What am I missing here?

The Large image in the Article has a giant Pink T-Mobile Logo flag and says Europeans ...a.k.a T-Mobile UK

I feel like I read all of this 3 months ago.

I've had my money set aside for a while now but all this stuff keeps coming up. School, car repair, a new clothes dryer.... I got all that taken care of but if one more unexpected thing happens my iPhone money is getting transfered.

Hurry up, Apple, before we all blow our money on something we need!

Jumping the gun stating its iPhone5 aren't you Macrumours? the link says next gen. Which a 4S would be.

Well, a "4" would actually imply it is not "next ten", but just an update to the "current" gen. That's how that whole numbering thing works.

Well if that's the case...
iPhone 3G and 3GS are actually iPhone 2. iPhone 4 is actually 3.
So, we are either getting an updated iPhone 3 or a brand new iPhone 4!!!
Oh the excitement. I can't wait to get my hands on an iPhone 4!!!
Seriously, it's just a name. Until the official name is announced no one really cares that much. As long as we know what you are talking about it'll be ok.

All subsidiaries of Deutsche Telekom share the same logo. The article is abundantly clear that this is for Deutsche Telekom in Germany, and I don't see the word "Europeans" anywhere.

Wow... jumping the gun I'd say! Come get pre-order tickets for something that's not even announced yet! Amazing!

why does it not say anywhere in the article how do us "Europeans" preorder?

I've just called my local UK T-Mobile store and the girl didn't have a clue!

I'm sure if this was a US network it would have been the first thing asked

it clearly says "Deutsche" Telekom duh! nothin about european

same for me actually

why? its not like they given away the release date or what it looks like etc
plus they dont even promote it its more like a "insider" thing, u have to do it over the phone and ask for it, they dont promote it on their page and they don't mention it anywhere to their customers either without them asking first

A quick search reveals that the iPhone 2g is just a rebranded original iPhone. Making if first generation, and thus iPhone 1 based on the argument that was presented.
My original comment still stands, though. It doesn't really matter what you call the new iPhone now. As long as everyone knows what it is you are talking about.

We clear? ;)

I'm all for anything that cuts down on the number of twits who feel the need to camp outside stores days before it's released.

It's time we got civilized. Hopefully it's one spot per customer.

Camping days, and weeks before a device launches is ridiculous. However I'll show up at 4am or so like last year to secure an iPhone. This allowed me to get my phone go gone and shower up, and still make it to work by 9AM! No camping at The Woodlands mall, or on it's property so it makes things a little easier!

Get rid of the prefix "pre-"

Like a cancerous growth, "pre" appears almost commonplace now. Often it is mis-used- such as in "pre-order". If the item is in stock then I buy it; if not then I order it and wait until it arrives. "Pre" is completely unnecessary.

This site is one of the few where the author writes excellent English but please get rid of "pre".

Richard.

4am? holy

i walked by at our local telekom store 15 mins before it opened last year and grabbed one without preorder on launch day. 20 minutes waiting in line already pissed me off. we germans r way to impatient ^^

Technically it was closer to 4:30 however I showed up and there were AT LEAST 100+ people already waiting. I couldn't get the day off just for a phone, and I knew that was my only chance to get it and still make it to work on time.

"Get your pre-order tickets here!"

"For what?"

"The new iPhone."

"What's it look like?"

"We have no idea."

"What are the new features?"

"Dunno."

"When can we actually see what you're selling?"

"No clue."

"How much?"

"Stop asking so many questions and just do what we tell you."

I hope this week Apple announce the date for the september keynote.
September 14th maybe? The sooner the better ;)

Unless you live on the moon or the business buys the phone for you I don't know anyone how would spend this month his money on an old, outdated piece of hardware. Don't get me wrong, it's lovely but it is also 1+ year old. I think Apple's interest is to push new tech in big volume.

There are a lot of people out there who don't follow Apple as meticulously as people around here do.

The people that do follow these news will be drawn towards T-Mobile to get their next gen iPhone, those who are not following the news probably won't even realise that this promotion is on...

I just called the T-Mobile hotline and they put me in the priority list for the iPhone 5 :)

Of course they didn't say anything about availability, but I am sure they also didn't know. They just checked if I am eligible for a contract renewal and then said that they will add me to the (growing...) list.

Deutsche Telekom = T-Mobile

you guys know that Deutsche Telekom is T-Mobile right? there the same company, just called T-Mobile in the USA.

this is very exciting considering T-Mobiles $50 Unlimited plan!

ONLY if you sign up for TWO phone lines. Single line still costs a lot of money. So... $100 for 2.
