lol I think Chrome will always be the "Cousin Oliver" of the web browser world. It's IE, then Firefox and everything else is just fighting for the crumbs.

People thought IE had won the browser wars a few years back and Firefox didn't exist.

That's a foolish thing to say. Opera has been around since 1996 and Chrome managed to achieve about 2.5x as many users in 9 months. Safari had the same percentage of users 2 years after its release, which is much less impressive, especially considering it was bundled with an OS and released about a year before Firefox 1, which means it didn't really have any competition on OS X.

Chrome beginning to beat Mozilla Firefox? What a joke – Chrome barely installs on a Mac, let alone that it doesn't even run halve as smooth as Mozilla Firefox, not to mention the lack of add-ons. Yeah, your post was a pretty ridiculous one.
He said on Windows and yes Chrome on windows is already better then Firefox on windows even without plugins.

I installed and tried out Chrome on OS X. It has potential but is still very raw. One thing I did notice is that it uses 1/10th the amount of memory as Safari and 1/5th of Firefox. Looks promising to me if that can keep that up. Most of the major browsers (Safare, I.E., and Firefox) have become bloated.

Love Chrome

I use Google Chrome at work on my Windows PC and I love it! It loads so fast. I think WebKit is the future of web browsers and glad we have a great WebKit browser for the PC now (Safari on Windows is terrible... still don't know why Apple did that).

Cannot wait to put Safari against Chrome on OS X!

Safari 3 looked terribly out of place on Windows, Safari 4 however blends right in into the Fisher-Price esthetics of Windows XP (and I presume also with Vista and Windows 7).
Is your judgement based on Safari 3 or 4? Safari 4 is also wicked fast.

As is yours! Chrome isn't even finished on the Mac. Your accusation is as ridiculous as saying Snow Leopard is the worst OS to ever be released when it hasn't been released. Not only that, I have add-ons running on Chrome right now.

Is it just me or is Chrome for OSX just plainly slow? SF4 Beta is way faster than Chrome on my Aluminum MBP.

I expected exceptional javascript performance, but it is just so slow as compared to SF4.

Also, sites render slow in comparison with Safari.. and I really mean the rendering, not the already filled cache in SF4.

It has been repeated several times - this is just a very very basic testing release that doesn't have much to do with the final product. Don't compare it to finished browsers like Safari 4 or Mozilla Firefox.
