The 2017 mbp keyboard feels better.

What specifically feels better? Have you tested out the keyboard issue like we discussed yesterday? Like play a game and crank up the CPU/GPU to get it warm enough and see if they stick and let us know.

The 2016 MBP is to the MBP line as the iPad 3 was to the iPad line IMO. We'll see if the 2017 has an improved keyboard once they get into real hands.

I always happens that way in all technology. You never want to buy a new model car on the 1st year, or a MacBook Pro.

Yes, I ran a dummy program to heat it up, no issues at load. I don't know how to describe the feel, but its different and I personally like it better.

Apple reserves the right to make changes to hardware without notice.

And like Nikon, another premium tech company, Apple does best when they make small improvements silently and by NOT admitting that a problem even existed unless it's on a large scale.

In spite of knowing many people using the new machines, the ONLY place I hear of these issues are on forums. And in spite of knowing a woman in charge of ordering hundreds of the new Macbooks (touchbar, Air and non-touchbar) for the NY Board of Education, the ONLY place I hear of these issues are on forums.

I don't say this to claim there are no issues. That would be insane. Every laptop design has a share of issues. But some owners with a problem enjoy the idea that every machine must be afflicted and Apple is hiding it...and that's just not the case.

Is it likely that Apple tweaked certain design elements? Absolutely. It done on a regular basis.

I bought one 15" Touchbar and two of the 13"s. They were all flawless, though I sold off one of the 13's because I no longer needed it. Currently my 15" unit is getting a real workout and performing above expectations.

They are still real and potential customers like me refrained from buying the 2016 version because of the QC issues.

Whoa there, you bought refurbished MBP with these issues and you didn't buy a 2016 because of this?

I think what you wrote was your refurbished MBPs were pre-2016 and the problems you had with the older model kept you from purchasing the newest model. Your argument really is not germane to the thread unless what you are trying to tell all of the readers is Apple's QC is generally not to be trusted because of your experience with older models.

The thread is about this, does the 2017 MBP fix the generally identified problems of the 2016 model? Since older models have different, well different everything, I fail to see an answer with your comment, that is unless you just really don't like Apple MBPs.

Mine is out for delivery right now. Should be here in the next couple of hours. Will let you know if I think there is any difference (returned my 2016 within the 14 day policy).

Definitely intererested to hear what you think of it. Judging by the fact that Apple was resorting to sticking shims in the keys, I would not be surprised if they've revised the keyboard.

Ant that's where you lost credibility, they sell millions of device, and even a hundred people complaining on a forum can hardly considered an issue.

Yeah, and you don't factor in those that have problems and don't post on a forum. Unless you know Apple's return and repair rate, you can't prove your point either.

I was happy with my 2016 overall. I had some issues when I received my very first one, which I ended up returning.. a few months later I picked up another one and it ran pretty well.

I can't imagine much is different with the 2017 other than the logic board, but who knows. Maybe the 2nd generation keyboard is now a "rev. b".

Was the screen on the 2017 supposed to be brighter yet again? I thought I heard that mentioned during the keynote. Maybe they were referring to the 15" or the MacBook.

Well... just heard the quiet popping sound again on the 2017 tbMBP 13 in. To clarify, I'm not talking about a speaker getting blown, but a very very silent static-like noise.

No issues with the keyboard as of yet but those issues didn't come up with my 2016 immediately either.

When/where are you hearing this noise? None of the 2016s I have owned/used experienced this (and it has been quite a few).

I'll look out for it on mine when it gets here.

It's completely random and it isn't that's big of a deal but is almost definitely not by design. A YouTube video I found:

Another video that has the exact noise:

Strange. I've never heard that. It almost seems to be the Taptic Engine making a noise.

It comes from the left speaker area so that's why I called it a quiet speaker pop. It's not the same as the speaker getting blown and making a loud clicking noise though

Huh. I was basing my guess on the video, as it seemed that was the front of the machine to the right of the trackpad.

10-15 secs whenever I try and use Keychain to autofill or save a password

I'm pretty sure that was a software issue. I had that too and now it's better. I've had this issue on and off after upgrading to new Macs. I've seen it before, but it did seem to be a little worse than the other times I've run into it this time around.

Samer here but I still wont be happy if I get 6 hours where they claim 10 :)

It's going to depend on what you do with it. I get 6 hours max and I'm thrilled, but I'm running a dev server and debug environment on it along with a few other resource hogging programs so it's all relative. I used to get 3-4 on my 2012 Unibody so being able to go 5-6 hours with some extra speed is quite an improvement.

Do you have some sort of device near your MBP that could be causing interference? Or does your desk have some type of magnet in it for one of various purposes? I ask because I've not seen any MBPs come in with that issue, so it may not be very common (making it harder to determine the root cause :(.)

Yes i feel the difference from my 15" mbp 2016 with my newest 15 2017,both base models with lates macos sierra
-better keyboard, if you take one key away they applied something,i dont know what but there is no click noise when the keys are warm
-better battery from around 8 h on my 2016 mail music web to 11 hours an 4 minutes
- in benchmark i see around 14% improved
-in dGpu around 9-10%
