Just looked at the Technology section on Google News. They show 24 "newly redesigned apps" That are ready for the new Retina Display on iPad. Personally I don't forsee a problem with the 16GB that I ordered. Unless you are gonna put a few copies of World Atlas on the thing you should be fine.:)

No, you didn't screw yourself. You actually made a smart decision. You didn't follow what Apple and the sheeple here were hoping you'd do and went for the most cost effective version. That extra profit Apple was hoping for can go for the iPad 4, or better yet help fund your retirement savings.

As of last week I was using 4.4gb on my 32gb iPad 1... I've since done a clean up, getting rid of the apps I never use so I'm currently sitting at 2.5gb installed. I think I will get along just fine with my new 16gb iPad 3.

I prefer keeping my iPad and computers clean. Everyone needs to evaluate their own needs and not panic... It will be alright.

Man if you buy a 32GB, you are basically robbed. Either get the 16GB which comes to $540 here in AZ or 64GB $760. The 32GB is $660 which for $110 more you get 32GB more...

Sheeple? Why? Because some people need/want more storage? That's pretty harsh.

I think you screwed yourself with the engraving more than anything. Less resale value with that.

I had a 64gb first gen and just filled it for the sake of it. 2nd gen I got a 16gb as home sharing really took away a lot of the need I had for storage. Did the same with third gen. Happy with my decision. Only time it comes close to being full is when I'm traveling and put some movies/TV shows on it.

Sell advice

If you did in fact screw yourself with a 16GB iPad, I wanna know how you managed to fit it in??

I restored my new iPad from my iCloud backup and updated all my apps. Only took up 3.5 GB. I assume it will increase when they become retina ready, but I was pleased it was so low.

Interesting enough Real Racing 2 HD Updated for the retina display weighs in at 444mb, whereas real racing 2 for the iphone weighs in at 442 mb.

Infinity Blade II is 791 megs. 1 is 595 megs, sky gamblers is only 360 megs.

I dont think there will be a problem (knock on wood)

can someone explain to me how to effectively use iCloud for Photos?? I have always had photostream off because I am only working with the free 5GB of storage.

Also, I am wanting to be able to take advantage of this new super high res screen so I would like to try to avoid using stuff like flickr, facebook, etc for photos as that would really compress the quality.

Also, someone mentioned the SD Card adapter... I have actually really been thinking about this. Who uses this and how effective is it (and how do you really use it)??

As an avid (armature) photographer (but just getting into my first real DSLR) I love taking lots of photos and not having a laptop anymore has really been a crunch especially while on long vacations.

Here's something that will help. Photostream doesn't count towards your free 5 GBs. Instead, if you want to transfer pics off of it to another device, you have to do so before a month is up cause it will only keep the current month's worth of photos (but it will store them permenantly on the device you took the picture with as well as your computer <- you have to connect your computer with photostream though, like for a mac you have to have the current iphoto and open it up to save the photos in photostream. If you wait too long, you won't get the ones that get wiped off photostream before you connected with iphoto. I try to remember to open iphoto once a month for those reasons).

No you didn't, originally i was hoping to get a 32GB this morning from my local premium reseller, was only 10th in line, but by the time i got to the till they had sold out of 32 & 64GB, and had only 1 16GB WiFi left, so i opted for that, thought i had made a huge mistake, but once i had gotten home and synced some stuff I was ALOT happier with my choice, it depends mainly on how you would use the device, and how much content you have.

For me i have a lot of content but im not going to be using my iPad all the time, certainly not as much as my iPod touch (4th gen 32GB), so its works out fine for me, at the moment I've got 600 songs, 2 movies, 2 TV shows, 20 apps (several of them getting on for 1GB in size) as well as 2 books, and I've still got 1.5GB left, which is perfect for me because im not going to use it as extensively as my touch, but i still have a fair amount of content on it, so overall im quite happy, plus you've saved some money by not buying a larger spec, which is never a bad thing :)

Bottom line is it all depends on the amount you going to use it, as well as the amount of content that you own.
