sadly..... no

hubby had no interest whatsoever in an apple watch.... he'd rather have his watch collection (he picks out his watch of the day to match his outfit like i pick out my shoes!!!)

I may get one for my wife but I'm not sure about getting one for me. I quit wearing watches some years ago because it was making my psoriasis act up on my wrist. Don't know if the AW will cause the same problems.

It seems appropriate since we just celebrated out 15th anniversary and the modern gift for that is watches.

It's our 10th wedding anniversary this year so we decided to buy each other an apple watch. I bought her the 38mm sport WSB and she bought me 42mm Sport SB.

Gratz!

My birthday was early May so I ordered a SS BSB at 2 hours and 18 minutes after orders went live on 10 April. My SO's birthday is in July so I figured I had lots of time to order hers. We went to the Apple store that day and she shifted from wanting a Sport to the SS with Milanese band. About 1:30 Eastern (10:30 after orders opened) I ordered her watch. What happens? Mine misses my birthday and hers beats MY birthday. She got hers 2 weeks before I got mine. I accused her of having a fling with Tim Cook and getting special treatment.

After reading reviews and watching my reaction and hers here are my thoughts. I think women like the watch more than men. Also, non-techies like it better than techies. Techies look for the iPad experience where you get a new play-toy and spend all night installing things and playing around. Non-techie people figure it is a watch that does some extra things. They love triage of messages and getting breaking news notifications and don't seem to care much that third party apps are slow. She loves the phone feature when she has her hands tied up. She loves dealing with messages. Finally, she gets CNN news alerts and local news alerts and like that. I think she sold several the last time we were int he Apple store. She was raving about how great it is and showing people how she uses it.

I thought the Dick Tracy phone thing would be a gimmick but it is really useful. The Digital Touch features only matter if you have someone who likes sending LU texts during the day. If you do have someone like that (I do) then Digital Touch is cool and fun.

Yes, we both have one so we can draw little messages to each other. It's fun, and sort of ridiculous. I have enough trouble drawing on the 42mm screen, I can't imagine drawing anything on the 38mm.

No, my boyfriend actually wants to wait and see how I like mine (which will arrive in 3 days).
As we don't have a chance here (living in Austria) to try on or even order an Apple Watch, he is still being sceptical.

Mu hubby is the original Apple fan in the house - I only converted in the last few years - so I thought for sure he'd want one. But no, he's got his eye on a new mechanical watch and won't even consider the AW. It's super annoying to me as he's hard to get a hold of (in part because he keeps his phone on silent - no sound, no vibration), and we've recently had a few emergencies including one where I really needed to reach him and couldn't.

Yeah, my partner also never answers his phone -- he leaves it lying around in the office somewhere he doesn't hear it ring, or he's already talking on the phone and lets it go to voicemail. I did order one for him, and he was game to try it, but he decided it doesn't do enough yet. He's not interested in the activity tracking, and he wants to be able to respond to emails from the watch with Siri. So maybe in a few generations.

We ended up giving his watch to my mom, who is loving the activity tracking. So it turned out well in the end. :)

I made sure my wife was okay with getting one before I pulled the trigger. Our 10th anniversary is in a couple months, so we agreed I'd buy her a 38mm WSB and I'd upgrade from my 42mm SGS to a SS + Black Leather Loop (which I've had for a couple of days and love) as our anniversary gifts to each other.

She was initially reluctant to get one because of the cost, and she hasn't worn a watch in years. But she has been wanting a Fitbit and currently uses a pedometer daily. I told her this was a souped up version of those, plus a nice watch, plus a terrific iPhone companion for notifications. She finally said okay and now seems to be getting more excited. But I'm still not sure how she will actually feel once she's worn it for a week.

Both the wife and I ordered within 3 minutes of the store opening and have had them for the last several weeks. I personally dig mine, her interest is waning and she leaves it off from time to time in the evenings and isn't too sure about it. I told her that I'm going to put it on CL if she doesn't keep using it, she doesn't want me to quite yet but the price has already dropped so I told her time is money.

I got a 42mm SSSB and asked if she would like one, but she has no interest in wearing a watch again.

My wife's 38 SS classic buckle arrived today, she didn't know I had ordered it and was absolutely delighted with the surprise. She loves the watch so far and can't wait until mine arrives so we can send each other taps.

Yes thats right, mine is still processing! She did say she feels really bad for me because I always get the new gadgets and on this instance I can only admire hers! Bless, she even offered to let me use it until mine arrives.

Congrats. Nice watches. So what's the key to a happy marriage?

We are both longtime Apple users, so I got one for my wife, with the main purpose being to replace her Fitbit during yoga or with her personal trainer. The Watch was a Mothers Day gift from me and the cats.... 38mm Sport with pink band.

So far she's liking it a lot. It has replaced the diamond studded David Yurman watch I got her for Christmas a couple years ago. That watch is now saved for when we attend special occasions, formal events, charity fundraisers, etc.

I bought my wife one but she never used it, kept leaving it on the dressing table everyday, said she didn't need it etc etc... did not appeal to her one iota.

i have 42SS and wear it every day like religion, i love mine.

hers has now gone to a loving home :( you can't please them all :D

My husband and I got ours at the same time. I was actually hesitant at first but he insisted I get one too since he really just wanted to play with the tap and draw messages.

Ordered her's a day after mine arrived, Monday June 1st, and it shipped today. 42mm SS Milanese.

BTW, I ordered mine late afternoon MST the day of launch.

Yes - I bought a 42mm and a 38mm for my wife. Now the thinking was that I would get a lot less flack for buying one for myself...it did work.

Hers showed up day 1 and mine a few days later. The funny thing is she likes her watch better then I do (I like mine - but she uses it a lot more).
