American?!...how about you keep it between you and him cool guy.
people from europe, new zealand, australia
seriously have some unrealistic stereotype view of americans.
First of all, we're not all white. Go to LA or NYC, and no you dont see obesity every where. In fact, a lot of people go to gym or exercise and try to eat healthy, cut down on carbs, etc etc and pig out on the weekends going to foodie spots.
Hell i dont even know anyone after graduating from HS and college that eats fast food more than once or twice a week.
spending more then we have? so your saying you dont have credit cards where you live?
this one australian guy had a friend that went to the states, I'm assuming he went to the boonies in some back country state.
all he was talking about was powdered milk, and heavily fat fried foods and such.
Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Manhattan.
I have never seen better multicultural cuisines anywhere else in the world that was authentic and genuine.
London? nope, Shanghai? nope, India? Hell no, Korea? Nope, Paris? Nope.
its very easy to get authentic Brazilian, Japanese, Korean, Peruvian, Cuban, Italian, French, Indian, Chinese, Mexican, Thai, Jamaican etc etc etc
in those 3 cities. not to mention all the fusion restaurants. I'm not saying other places cant offer authentic cultural foods, but its hard to find, not in abundance, and sometimes doesnt taste right, and at times very expensive.
i never appreciated the US as much since i traveled. The real estate prices, the prices for beef (particularly steak) is so much cheaper and the quality is so much better then essentially any where else in the world.
I've ate australian beef a lot when i go to china and india, its not that great. nothing beats US steak (besides japanese kobe beef, which i never tried yet. Of course i ate american kobe (wagyu))
i think theres a real misconception of the US. Especially on here, and they also assume every american is an obese middle class white man. SMH
