Mine is just right. I have used very little of the 128GB. It's great not having to worry about space, it's also why I bought a 120GB iPod Classic years ago.

My 64gig 6S is plenty. If Apple had 32GB that would have worked as well. But 16GB should not even be a option and Apple knows this.

OP left out the most important option. 32Gb.

I have had 32gb option from iPhone 3GS to iPhone 5S. Usually had between 7gb left. It was easily manageable even with switch to 720 to 1080p and I know I can manage 4K. Since i take a lot off the phone.

Apple knows this as well. That's why no 32gb option. 64gb is overkill for me. I have 30gb leftover right now. So 16gb is too little. 64gb too much. Paying the apple tax.

I've got 62GB/113GB free.

Probably could've managed with 64GB, but I just don't want to have to do that. Just not even having to think about storage is great.

No "I need to get more space next time around" option? I was guilted into 16GB by a family member, "you won't NEED it", "you shouldn't spend the extra money" etc etc and got the 16GB. Sure enough, a few months later, I install a few large games and run out of space. Also wanted to download some Doctor Who season 8 episodes off iTunes and I could only store like 1 or 2 HD episodes, had to get all standard definition and delete other stuff at that.

I fit into 16GB with 3 or 4 gigs to spare right now but that's only because I offloaded all the videos from my photo library to my computer. I can't even fit them on my phone, it's about 4 or 5 gigs of video. I also don't have all the games, apps and such I would like to, I delete what I am done using. Very frustrating.

Had the same experience with my 16 GB 5C. The constant managing of space sucked a lot of the enjoyment out of using the device because there was the constant question of "Will I have enough space to download that app?" What app(s) do I need to remove to download this?

64gb model, 19 gb free. Recently freed up a few more gb of space by deleting caches in apps like Newsify (2.3gb of image caches?!?). Quite enough.

My policy is to always max out storage. I'm already running out of room on my 128GB models. Hopefully, iPhone 7 will have 512GB!!! :D

Newsify is a great app but yeah, I disabled images because of the space they take up. There's always the option to visit the site or the Readability version with images.

128GB. Frankly I'm down to 20GB left, this is the first apple device I've bought with top storage that will be inadequate due to 4K video. Can't imagine the pain of owning a 16gb model

Same with me. Apples scheme of getting 100 extra bucks out of me worked like a charm.

I never understand this.

If 16GB was not enough then higher capacity at an additional $100 would have been needed anyway. How was it an "extra" $100 bucks?

This always confuses me.

I'll explain it for you if you are actually confused. Modern phones of even moderate quality level like the Nexus 6p, Samsung S6, HTC OneM9, LG G4, Note, Motorola Droid Turbo, etc etc come with 32gb base models.

Only cheap phones like you find in convenient stores that drug dealers buy and for some reason (which is obvious) the Apple iPhone use 16gb base models.

The idea is 16gb won't be enough so you'll upgrade to 64gb and pay them 100 more dollars. Keep in mind a lot of those manufacturers above don't charge extra for 32gb and 64gb is a 50 dollar upgrade. Many users wouldn't need to upgrade if the base model was 32gb. That's why it's so obvious.

Apple does this across most of their product line. Like a 5400rpm HDD in a 4K iMac, a sold separately USB C adaptor with the new MacBook, stylus (pencil) not included with the iPad Pro.

The thing is, there are people who don't want a 32GB device for whatever reason. I don't get their reasoning, but they are adamant that they don't want 16GB.
Also, some enterprise clients want the smallest storage possible. Again, I don't get them.
Lastly, I know of parents who want to limit the use of their kids' first phone. They don't want them with huge amounts of music or apps.
It's not what I would choose, however, there are people who want 16GB.

I don't get that either. 32GB for the same price as 16GB? Everything else above it same price and same storage config? I don't understand who would possibly have a problem with that or why.

I got a 64GB 6S+. it's enough for me. i stream all my music so it's only really the cache. also stream netflix and if i do download a movie from itunes it'll deleted straight after i've finished watching it.

as for apps, i don't use a lot and don't play games. maybe 6-10 apps for things like twitter/youtube/authenticators etc.

for pictures/videos i don't take a lot and if i take videos it'll be at 1080p. no point recording at 4K if i don't have a tv/monitor that can properly display it.

64GB is fine with me. my mum has a 16GB ipad and that is more than enough for her. i guess it just depends how you use it personally. i probably could get away with a 16GB but i don't mind paying for the 64GB and not worrying about space.

You've completely don't understand (maybe u do understand) Apple's motives.

16GB base model has been the low end since 2009. And it's 2015. We are talking base model. Apple has always been notorious at skimping by.

It's simply a business decision by Apple not to even offer the base 32gb model. They know people would not pay $100 extra for 64gb model. 16 to 32gb costs Apple literally $3-5 But the profit margin is $90-95 going from 16 to 64gb when selling it.

Apple is facing a lawsuit from people who couldn't do over the air iOS updates with base 16gb model (they have to use iTunes to upgrade)

And a tell tell sign Apple knows milking the 16gb base model is over: look at iPad pro 32gb base. Look at Apple TV 32gb base.

There is simply no justification for 16gb base on iPhone especially with 4K movies and pictures. Note a slimy move by Apple. The default video recording isn't even at full 1080p 60 frames. It's at 30 frames. And obviously they didn't default to 4K.

I've had this conversation with several people who do not want a 16GB phone at all. As I said, I don't understand their reasons but they are adamant about them.
I myself always go for the most storage possible. What I'm saying is there are people who are as adamant about getting 16GB as I am about maxing out.

There are also agencies that only want to give employees 16GB. My SGS5 for work was 16GB.

We may not agree, but people out there really want minimum storage.

Companies go with whatever the cheapest base model is.

And the whole point is the base model needs to be raised to 32gb.

The Galaxy S5 has an expansion slot. So 16gb plus expansion. It's a whole different discussion if Samsung Galaxy s5 didn't have expansion slot.

I picked the 64gig got my 6s just as I did for my iPad air2 last year.

In Canada it almost cost me 700$ with taxes on a 2 year contract so a 128gig would have been too expansive.

Yes. I have 128. You don't have to use all of it. I typically have 50 GB free. I could pare down and make do with 64 but I would have to manage space all the time.

Previous i had 6plus 64gb and after almost year of usage there was around 50gb free space. So when i went to store for 6s, i bought 16gb version. I don't play any games, i don't need 4k video and all my music streamed by spotify premium + i have unlimited 4G plan :)

Definitely got the right size. Last year I bought the 128 regular 6 and traded it for a 6+ 64gb. I never ran out of space but I didn't download all the movies I wanted off of Moviebox either so this time I bought the 128gb 6s+ -very happy until Sept 2016
