I come from an 6S+ and an 8+ so size is definitely not an issue for me. Still noticed the extra weight at the beginning but got used to it easily. But not everyone is the same and that’s why Apple sells three different sizes iPhones.

I have always had the 'normal' size phones, 6s, 7 and then an 8. I have recently bought an XS Max and find the size fine. I use mine a lot for satnav and was finding that I could not see street names with my 8 (getting old now). No problems now.

I had a 7plus for a year and developed pain in my thumb from stretching. I really did enjoy the larger screen size, but a few minutes with the 11 pro Max in store confirmed to me that I can’t manage that weight And reach on a daily basis. Even on the X, my most used gesture is the swipe down to reach the stop of the screen. But hey if you can make it work for you, go for it. The extra battery life is the best part of the plus/max.

Have a XS Max. While I enjoy the large screen, I’ve come to realize that the increasing thickness and weight of the iPhones that I’ve owned (6+ to 8+ to XS Max) makes them more difficult to handle for longer periods of time. Intend to go for smaller Pro size next time.

I've always had Plus iPhones since the 6, then I switched back to XS, then again to 11 Pro Max this year.
It's heavy? Yes, but it makes easier to hold and feel more premium. While I enjoyed the portability of the XS, I've never adjusted to its small display when browsing the web, watching photos, and so on...

The iPhone is my primarily personal computer, I do everything from taking photos, to organising family/personal docs, family accounting, banking, web browsing, gaming, movies (on device or casted to AirPlay 2 TV), music, directions, communication, shopping, booking holidays... so I always want the biggest screen/battery. Dang I even wrote my updated resume on my phone...

On a side note... Plus/Max phones are not easy to use one handed for sure, but the situation has improved drastically since I started to use a ring holder. This is something I suggest to anyone that is struggling with one handed usage.
