Screen is 0.6 inch bigger, price might be $xx higher, so let's calculate how much does 0.1-inch cost?

I'll probably be lurking in the Apple refurbs section on those just to look... like i been lookin'... and lookin'... which of course will bring me back to look at the newest release... and keep lookin'... and lookin'...
... but I'm almost at point of admitting I've been looking for some u-turns that are not going to happen, mostly to do with ports; also maybe bigger SSDs for less of a hit and etc.
Maybe time for me to MAKE a u-turn of sorts, and figure on whatever is the then currently biggest iPad Pro when my workhorse mid-2012 MBP finally croaks. I'm not fussy about keyboards and have got used to assorted BT ones bc my MBP's kb is busted, so maybe time to acknowledge I use my iPads pretty often for most of what I need computing gear for anyway.
Still I've been an MBP user and admirer for long enough now I cannot stop myself windowshopping.
no...the screen will be 1" bigger....from 15.4" to around 16.38" based on the resolution and the scalingScreen is 0.6 inch bigger, price might be $xx higher, so let's calculate how much does 0.1-inch cost?![]()
you are not paying 3000$ just for an working keyboard..if this become a reality then everybody should wait UNTIL every mac laptop adopt this...It is kinda sad that you have to pay 3000 $ if you just want portable mac os with a working keyboard ...
When I say most people, I mean the US because it's one of, if not the largest market for Apple, it's where I'm from, it's all I care about. Please define *most people*, ideally not from a US-centric view.

he didn’t say you were paying just for a working keyboard. He said that the price of entry into portable macs will be $3000 if you want a working keyboard.
still no invites, guess it’s been pushed back to 2020.
What I think he's saying is that by next year, every mac laptop (even macbook airs) will likely have a 'working' scissor keyboard, so you should wait UNTIL that happens.

Why do you people think apple has to have an event to release a new laptop? I suspect it will be a press release. They've done several product release like that.

Anyone who complains about the Touch Bar not being useful should give BetterTouchTool a try. It lets you customize every aspect of it, insert a dock, clock, weather, currently playing song, shortcuts, AppleScripts, etc.
It has turned me into a Touch Bar lover.
1 inch bigger, $1000 more expensive.

A press release is far more likely, unless they have another "major" product to announce (e.g. new iPad Pro). Even then, these are just iterative updates for comparatively low-volume devices, so a "quiet release" wouldn't surprise me. This is likely a $2799+ device, and not a big sales driver. More significant for Apple will be the next major redesign of the 13" model. If there is an event, it's going to be announced today. Otherwise we will get a press-release announcement. Either way: I'm looking forward to the machine.
$2999 starting price I estimate.
Pro users. I paid like 3500 for current Macbook Pro 2018 model. Are you kidding me? Who in their right mind would buy this, let alone anyone here on the MacRumors forums has enough cash to buy this?

I'm on my third MBP keyboard already (true story). You must be onto somethingBe sure when you do make 'love' to that touch bar that you don't accidentally spill 'something' on that fragile keyboard.😀
