MacRumors said:It's hard to imagine Apple … raising the price
Dear Lord no! I’m changing iPhone every year, I don’t want to pay for a pair of new buds every time
How about a fast charger? That would be a bold move.
The iPhone 11 doesn’t.The iPhone 11 Pro comes with a fast charger.
And, like I use bluetooth hearing aids when editing video that in turn has me using the lightning port for my micro SD card reader. How are Bluetooth earphones any more “proper” a replacement for the headphone jack earphones than lightning earphones?
Raising prices is Apple's bread and butter and the only thing they truly excel at these days.
"Let's add Touchbars which no one asked for" = Price increase.
"Let's add a stupid-looking notch that f's up the screen and call it design" = Price increase.
"Let's make this comp insanely difficult to open so we can sell RAM upgrades with 70% markup" = Price increase.
"Let's take make the base model 32/64 GB for 5 years so 99% of users have to upgrade" = Price increase.
"Let's make it all glass so you have to buy Applecare+" = Price increase.
"Let's focus on accessories and services" = Price increase.
"Let's kill ports and introduce new ones so we can sell dongles and wireless add-ons" = Price increase.
Apple weekly exec meetings go like:
Phil: "Hey Tim, do I get a bonus if I introduce the new Apple monitor starting at $5K?"
Tim: "No; you only get a bonus if you do that AND sell the stand separately for $1K."
Phil: "Deal."
Prove me wrong.
Apple AirPods 2 are widely available worldwide. Not true. Just referencing Apple’s website for my area, I’m looking at the AirPods 2 (W/O wireless charging case), and the earliest delivery is at least a week or more out. They are _not_ widely available, especially during the busiest shopping time of the year right now.
Also, not sure how you would be able to know the AirPods are not widely available, being you’re not from North America, so it makes it a bit difficult to predict that.
FYI...
[The AirPod Pros are showing a delivery date of January 2.]
Sure, because plugging in the wired earphones (EarPods) that shipped with the iPhone into the Lightning port at the bottom instead of the headphone jack at the bottom was such a drag that people felt forced to buy wireless earphones.Apple had a choice when they removed the headphone jack: pack in wireless headphones (pro consumer) or get customers to pay for them (pro revenue). They chose the latter. There is no chance that they are going to reverse that decision now.
No way, the AirPods are following the same trajectory of the iPod.

While I can’t speak for everyone... I feel like bundled accessories would bother nobody & don’t see anyone claiming differently.People in this thread are already pissed off. Like, I have never seen such an adverse reaction to bundled accessories.
Silicon shark fin covers?I don't think this will happen, but if it does the first thing I will do with the bundled AirPods is to put them for sale on eBay.
The AirPods are useless for me as they fall out of my ears with the slightest movement. I would be nice though to recoup some of the cost of the iPhone, by selling the AirPods![]()
Silicon shark fin covers?
Anyway, I wonder how much they would fetch though. You wouldn't be the only one doing this. Likewise, "everyone" else would have AirPods now, too. Maybe, $50? At least, it'd be something. AirPods would become ubiquitous for sure.
Every objective indication says the above is pure hyperbole.Raising prices is Apple's bread and butter and the only thing they truly excel at these days....
Prove yourself right....Prove me wrong....
