You still need just xCon from the repo I listed above. You can upgrade to the new DirecTV app version now and all will work fine once you install both. I was having the same hanging issue as you before.

Well, since I already paid for it (mainly for support of the dev) I would have hoped it did something.

It just stops the mobile AppStore app from notifying you of upgrades for those apps that xCon patches.
It didn't work for me, at least the "non-paid" version of the xCon Alias app didn't. The DirecTV app kept showing up in the App Store as having an update.
I'm aware of that, but in this case it didn't. But like I said, the main reason I purchased it was to support the dev so it's no big deal.
Have DirecTV iPad app 1.6.6. Have xcon 37 beta 6 installed from n00neimp0rtant.dyndns.org/repo.
Still getting the "No connected receivers found" message.
Have jailbroke, unjailbroke and then jailbreak again and still getting the same error.
Under Receiver control in the app, I have no receivers listed, not even a receiver listed in red.
Any suggestions?

It does not work as of right now, so stay away from 1.7.2 until an update for xCon is released in Cydia.
Strange thing. The new update works on my wife's ipad2 with xcon 36 installed. For some reason we did not update the Xcon with the last update and had not used the app. I updated mine to v37beta 6 with the last upgrade of the app and now that one does not work with the new app but the v36 on the ipad works with the new updated Directv app.

I posted this problem on interriders last Friday and still no response.
I may just have to install iOS 6 and forget about jailbreaking.

look through the comments and you will a link to download a DEB file, it's a new beta. Download through iFile and it works fine. If you don't want to do that, looks like it will be updated very shortly

I just saw on the devs' twitter accounts that an update is coming to cydia that addresses these issues
any news on the update yet? i can't what to use the directv app on my iPhone, but i just wished i could stream live tv on my iPhone 4s anywhere i.e. outside my homes wifi!!!!
